Key points
1We exist to magnify God, not to fill some need in Him.
Pastor Daniel introduces the theological idea of the aseity of God — that God is self-existent and self-reliant and needs nothing from us. He reads Acts 17:24 to show God gives life and breath to everything rather than needing anything, and then explains that God still chose, out of intention rather than need, to create us for His own enjoyment and glory.
2Everyone worships something; the question is what.
Using Isaiah 43, Pastor Daniel shows God telling His people they were formed and called by name for His glory. He argues our built-in drive to worship shows up misdirected in things like sports fandom and celebrity culture, and warns that whatever gets our glory becomes our god, giving the example of money as a good tool but a terrible god.
the question this morning is not do we worship? The question is simply what do we worship
whatever gets your glory eventually is the thing that will become your god

3Worship is a whole-life response to God, not just a style of singing.
Pastor Daniel points to 1 Chronicles 16:29 and 1 Corinthians 10:31 to argue that eating, drinking, and everything we do is meant to be worship. He frames the rest of the message around four practical, alliterative areas — time, treasure, talent, and talk — as ways to live this out.
the only one that is worthy of your worship, that can sustain the weight of your worship, is the one who died to receive your worship
4Worship God with our time, because God's love language is time spent, not work.
He uses Gary Chapman's five love languages to ask what God's love language is, and answers that Christianity is about being with God, not working for Him. He walks through John 15 (abiding in the vine) and Luke 10:38-42, where Jesus tells Martha that Mary's choice to sit at His feet, not her busyness, is the one thing worth being concerned about.

5Worship God with our treasure, because where our treasure is shows where our heart is.
Citing Matthew 6:21 and Proverbs 3:9, Pastor Daniel argues that how we spend money reveals what we actually worship. He shares a call with a church-planting friend in El Paso and announces the church is giving $43,000 to help Somos Church move into their building, framing it as giving God their first and best rather than what's left over.
Christianity is about learning to just be with God. It's about being with God
A story from life
Pastor Daniel recounts calling a pastor friend from his church-planting cohort who leads Somos Church in El Paso, learning of their $43,000 gap to move into a permanent facility, and committing to cover that gap — including playing the recorded video of that call.
6Worship God with our talent, because our work itself can be worship.
Drawing on Ephesians 2:10 and Colossians 3:23, he tells the congregation that every vocation — stay-at-home mom, electrician, nurse, salesperson — is holy when done for God rather than for a paycheck or a boss. He connects this to the church's upcoming Christmas services and the need for volunteers to serve.
My work is not just a job that I go to. It's actually one of the primary ways that I worship God throughout the week
7Worship God with our talk, because our words represent the King we serve.
He reads 1 Peter 4:11 and Colossians 3 to show that speech is worship too, using the example of road rage on the freeway. He closes this point with David's prayer in Psalm 19:14 asking that the words of his mouth and meditation of his heart be pleasing to God.
You are the only thing that can sustain the weight of our worship

Application
Pastor Daniel calls the church to let the Holy Spirit gently correct wherever their worship has veered off course, rather than trying harder in their own strength.
Give God your time
Make being with God a kept, prioritized appointment rather than something squeezed in after work and busyness, following the model of Mary sitting at Jesus's feet.
Give God your treasure first
Examine where your money goes as an indicator of what you worship, and give God your first and best rather than what's left over, trusting Him as your provider.
Give God your talent
See your job, whatever it is, as worship rather than just a paycheck, and step into serving at the upcoming Christmas services by texting 'serve' to 31707.
Give God your talk
Let your words at work, at home, and in traffic represent Jesus rather than frustration or anger, choosing grace and kindness instead.
Let the Spirit course correct you
Identify which of these four areas you struggle with most, admit where you've drifted without falling into condemnation, and turn back toward worship through surrender, not striving.
Take it into your week
