Accessibility Conformance Statement
Self-attestation · Last updated July 3, 2026.
Our commitment
Rewind is committed to making its sermon companion usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. We design and build the in-app product to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
Conformance status
WCAG 2.2 Level AA — supports (self-attested). The in-app product (the sermon library, reader, search, saved items, and the Studio tools) is built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA success criteria. This is a good-faith self-assessment by the Rewind team; it has not yet been audited by an independent third party. Where a specific view falls short, we treat it as a defect and fix it.
How we evaluate
Accessibility is checked continuously as part of how the product is built, not as a one-time pass:
- Automated accessibility linting (jsx-a11y) runs in continuous integration on every change.
- A dedicated accessibility review gate examines every in-app UI change against WCAG 2.2 A/AA — keyboard operability and focus management, labels and roles, color contrast, target size, and reduced-motion support.
- A design-system guard keeps color and typography on documented, contrast-checked tokens rather than ad-hoc values.
- Manual keyboard and screen-reader spot-checks on primary reader and Studio flows.
What we support
- Full keyboard operation of interactive controls, with a visible focus indicator.
- Semantic headings and landmarks, and a “skip to content” target.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative imagery is hidden from assistive tech.
- Data visualizations paired with an accessible text or table equivalent — never color alone.
- Respect for the operating-system “reduce motion” setting.
- AA-level color contrast and touch-target sizing.
Known limitations
This statement covers the in-app product. Third-party embedded media players (for example, the YouTube player used to play a sermon) are governed by their own vendors' accessibility support. Rendered share artifacts (audiogram video clips) are visual media with on-screen captions; the underlying sermon text and audio remain available in the accessible app. If you encounter a barrier anywhere, please tell us and we will prioritize a fix.
Feedback and contact
If you experience any difficulty accessing part of Rewind, or need content in an alternative format, please contact us. We aim to respond promptly and to resolve accessibility issues as a priority. A formal third-party audit and a full VPAT® document are available on request for institutional procurement.
