Drawing from the brief but powerful prayer of Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, this sermon teaches that pain does not have to define our identity, and that God responds to bold, passionate, rightly-ordered prayer. Jabez modeled four essential requests every believer should bring to God: blessing, expanded territory, God's abiding presence, and protection from harm. When we align our lives with God's order and bring these requests before Him with passion and faith, we position ourselves for God to grant them—just as He did for Jabez.

Drawing from Matthew 8, Pastor Daniel shows that following Jesus does not exempt us from storms — in fact, Jesus sometimes leads us directly into them. The disciples' terror on the Sea of Galilee was not an accident but a purposeful test designed to grow their faith from small to strong. When they finally cried out, Jesus calmed the storm instantly, leaving them awestruck and asking the most important question anyone can answer: 'Who is this man?' The sermon calls us to bring whatever little faith we have to Jesus, trust His presence in the boat with us, and watch Him turn our messes into miracles.

Drawing from Luke 24's road-to-Emmaus account, this Easter sermon argues that when life's circumstances fall short of our expectations, discouragement can blind us to God's presence and promises. Yet Jesus — risen from the dead — actively seeks out discouraged people, walks alongside them, and waits to be invited into their pain. Just as He opened the eyes of two defeated followers the moment they welcomed Him in, He offers the same resurrection power to anyone willing to receive Him today.
