Echoes Church

Daniel Goulding · Sep 14, 2026
The same God who took an ordinary, overlooked man named Abram and built a nation through him is the same God building something significant through Echoes Church today. He's not asking for perfection, just willingness to leave what's familiar, go where He leads, and trust Him with sacrificial generosity to build a permanent home.

Every believer is in a real spiritual battle, and God has equipped us not only to defend ourselves but to fight back with the sword of the Spirit, the word of God. Following Jesus's example in the wilderness, we can resist the enemy's attacks on our appetite, our need for approval, and our ambition by speaking and standing on scripture until the enemy flees.

Salvation is a free, unmerited gift, and it is meant to be lived out daily, not just accepted once. When you put on the helmet of salvation, you let your new identity in Christ, not your sin, your successes, or comparison with others, define you and shape how you walk through every circumstance of life.

Every believer already has faith — the real question is whether it's aimed at the right things. Faith isn't a feeling shaped by circumstances but confidence anchored in the truth of God's word, and Pastor Daniel shows how it is received by hearing God's word, grown through exercising it in real risk, and activated by speaking scripture, staying connected to other believers, and fixing our eyes on Jesus.

God offers a righteousness and a peace you cannot manufacture on your own, but can only receive as a gift through Jesus. As you bring the misaligned parts of your life back into line with God's word, He guards your heart like body armor and gives you a soul-level peace that provides both stability to stand and freedom to move.

There's good news in the middle of a spiritual battle: God has given us armor, and the first piece to put on is the belt of truth. Truth isn't relative or personal—it's an objective standard found in the person of Jesus—and even when it's painful to face, it's the very thing that stabilizes us and sets us free.

There is real hope available for the battles raging in our marriages, minds, and homes: God is far more powerful than the enemy, and He invites us into victory not through our own effort but through His strength. Paul's letter to the Ephesians shows us how to recognize the real enemy, understand his tactics, and pick up the weapons we've actually been given to fight and win.

Paul closes Romans not with more talk of success or productivity but with how we treat other people. Finishing well means refusing to quit or coast, and instead staying rooted in God's word, connected through prayer, at peace with others, and focused on Jesus all the way to the end.

We live behind enemy lines, and life is hard because this is not heaven. But Jesus, our commander, has a clear objective for the daily battles we fight: that the world would see Him clearly through us. Romans 13-14 lays out the strategy — accept authority, always love, and avoid pettiness — lived out in front of the eight to fifteen people who watch our lives most closely.</thesis> <parameter name="key_points"> <parameter name="points">[]

Because of everything God has already done for you, you don't have to earn His approval — you get to respond to His grace. There's a better way than being shaped by the world's performance-driven customs: offering your whole life to God as a living sacrifice and letting Him transform how you think, so your life reflects Jesus instead of just copying the world around you.

Followers of Jesus are promised, through Romans 8, that they are more than conquerors — people who inherit Christ's victory without having earned it themselves. Attack in this life is inevitable, but defeat is not, because our salvation, provision, freedom from accusation, and God's love are all secured by what Jesus already accomplished, not by our performance.

No matter how hopeless a situation looks, God is not far off waiting for things to resolve themselves — He is actively at work, right now, weaving every hurt into something good. Like Joseph, whose betrayal and prison years became the very path to saving his family, our pain can become the setup for a purpose we cannot yet see.
