Key points
1God has a plan and is actively involved in His creation, not a distant, disengaged God.
Pastor Daniel contrasts the biblical God with deism, the idea that God created the world and then stepped away. He points to the scale of the universe and God's knowledge of every hair on our heads to show God is both massive and personal, and cites Jeremiah's promise of good plans and Paul's assurance that God works all things for good.
2God has a general will for all humanity, and it's revealed clearly in Scripture, unlike the specific will we usually chase.
He notes that most people asking about God's will actually want the specific will (who to marry, where to move, what job to take), but the Bible is mostly silent there. Instead Scripture is loud about the general will: forgive those who hurt you, honor your marriage covenant, seek the lost — so we don't have to pray about things already commanded.
God cares more about who you are than what you do
the grass is not greener on the other side. The grass is greener on the side that you choose to water
3Our purpose is singular: to bring God glory in everything, which reframes how we should ask our decision questions.
Using Isaiah 43:7 and 1 Corinthians 10, he argues God cares less about which job or city we choose and more about whether we can do it for His glory. He illustrates with the 'whatever' idea of God's will — the what matters less than the how and why.
what what you practically do doesn't matter as much as how you do it and who you are when you are in that job

A pastor's saying that God's will is essentially 'whatever' — framed as a default out-of-office reply — used to illustrate that God cares more about how and why we act than which specific option we choose.
4Step one to walking in God's specific will: submit your life to Jesus as both Savior and Lord, not just Savior.
He explains the shift from the Old Testament animal sacrifice system to the New Testament reality that we ourselves are the living sacrifice. He warns against a westernized faith that wants just enough Jesus to get to heaven but not enough to be different Monday morning, citing Galatians 2:20 and warning from Matthew 7 about those who never truly knew Him.
you will never walk in the will of God. You will never experience the the blessing and the peace and the supernatural provision of God if you only ever know Jesus as savior
5Step two: renew your mind so you think differently than culture, rather than letting culture set your direction.
He points to Pew Research data on pornography and homosexuality to show even bible-believing Christians are absorbing culture's thinking rather than Scripture's. He runs a series of culture-versus-Bible contrasts (do you, follow your heart, cancel people, etc.) and calls the church to saturate its mind in the Word instead, citing Colossians 3 and Psalm 119.
6Step three: test the outcome — your life's fruit reveals whether you're actually walking in God's will.
Using the illustration of a tree that's labeled a pear tree but produces oranges, and Jesus' words in Matthew 7 that people are known by their fruit, he pushes listeners to soberly ask what their life is producing — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control — rather than trusting feelings or labels.
in nature, we know that something is what it produces

7Even if you've missed a turn or made a mess, God can recalculate and redirect you back toward His plan.
He tells the story of missing his freeway exit that morning and how a GPS never tells you to give up but recalculates the route. He connects this to the cross of Calvary as proof God restores those who feel too far gone, closing with an invitation to submit again, renew the mind, and test new decisions.
the cross proves that you are not so big that you could derail the plan that God has for your life
A story from life
The preacher describes missing the freeway exit on the drive to church that very morning, used to set up the GPS recalculation analogy about God redirecting those who feel off course.
Application
Pastor Daniel frames it as three steps that always lead into God's will: submit, renew, and test.
Submit your life fully to Jesus as Lord
Don't just keep Jesus as a Savior who gets you to heaven while staying lord of your own choices; hand Him the parts of your life you've been holding onto.
Let God's Word renew how you think
Stop letting culture set your direction on issues like sexuality, marriage, and forgiveness; saturate your mind in Scripture so your thinking actually changes.
Test the fruit your life is producing
Soberly ask what the people who know you best would say is coming out of you — love, joy, peace, patience, self-control — and let that reveal whether you're really walking in God's will.
If you've missed a turn, let God redirect you
If a marriage, finances, or a decision feels wrecked, don't assume you're too far gone; go back to submitting, renewing, and testing, trusting God to recalculate the route.
Take it into your week
