Key points
1A miracle is a supernatural act of God that interrupts the natural order to reveal His power, purpose, and presence.
Pastor Daniel lays out a working definition before walking through why God does miracles: throughout Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation, He does this either to restore creation's broken order back toward heaven's order, or to validate a messenger carrying a hard message, as with Moses's staff turning into a snake in Exodus 4 and Elisha calling down fire in 2 Kings 1.
A miracle biblically, I believe is a supernatural act of god that interrupts the natural order to reveal god's power, god's purpose, and his presence
2With Jesus, the supernatural stopped being occasional and became ordinary, proving He is more than a teacher.
After four hundred years of biblical silence, Jesus arrives doing signs and wonders as a natural byproduct of who He is. Nicodemus in John 3 gets it partly right, saying Jesus's miraculous signs prove God is with Him, but Pastor Daniel notes the common mistake of thinking Jesus mainly came to teach rather than to save.
3Believers today carry the same Spirit that raised Jesus, so the supernatural isn't reserved for Bible characters or overseas revival stories.
He contrasts cessationism and continuationism, landing in the continuationist camp, and points out that Peter's shadow healed people and Paul pointed to signs and wonders as proof of his apostleship. He observes that in much of the world the supernatural is treated as ordinary, while American culture's confidence in logic creates doubt and discomfort around it.
4There's a tension to live in, not a problem to solve, between chasing signs and denying the supernatural altogether.
Jesus says believers will do even greater works in John 14, yet warns that an evil generation demands miraculous signs and that false prophets will perform wonders to deceive in Matthew 16 and 24. Pastor Daniel shares his own story of the supernatural becoming an idol in a church he was part of, warning against worshiping the gift more than the giver while still not wanting to throw the whole thing away.
I think it's much more attention to be managed than it is a problem to be solved
A story from life
The preacher describes his own faith journey beginning with supernatural visions of himself preaching, and later witnessing a church where signs and wonders became the focus above the gift-giver.
5Miracles begin with an unsolvable problem, and God multiplies whatever we're willing to surrender, however small.
Walking through John 6, Jesus tests Philip with a question he already knows the answer to, then takes a boy's five loaves and two fish. Pastor Daniel highlights that miracles require a real problem, unlike magic, and that little faith surrendered to Jesus, like a mustard seed, is what He multiplies to feed the crowd with baskets left over.
the difference between miracles and magic is miracles require a problem
god doesn't need much. He just needs it to be yours and he needs it to be surrendered
6Jesus doesn't just give the bread, He is the bread — the one thing that actually satisfies the soul.
He shows that the crowd that returns in verse 26 wants Jesus for what He gives, not for who He is, and unpacks Jesus's claim, I am the bread of life, whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Pastor Daniel warns that jobs, marriage, or money can help momentarily but cannot ultimately satisfy the soul the way Jesus can.
he's not just what we want. He's everything that we need
7The one guaranteed miracle is the salvation of a lost and broken person who comes to Jesus in repentance.
Using the raising of Lazarus, who still eventually died again, Pastor Daniel distinguishes between miracles we hope for that may not come the way we expect and the one miracle Scripture promises every time: that whoever confesses Jesus as Lord and believes in his heart will be saved. He ties this to communion, framing it as remembering the cost Jesus paid for that guaranteed miracle.
Jesus is enough. He can save you. He can redeem you and he can restore you

Humorous everyday examples of what Americans casually call 'miracles' — finding a parking spot, a fast Chick-fil-A line, toddlers sleeping in — used to contrast casual usage with biblical meaning.
Application
Pastor Daniel asks the church to bring whatever little they have to Jesus and let Him multiply it, rather than waiting until they feel like they have enough.
Bring your little to Jesus
Whatever resource, faith, or ability you feel is too small, hand it over the way the boy gave up his lunch, trusting God multiplies what is surrendered rather than what is abundant.
Let your faith be stretched, not settled
Whether you lean skeptical or eager toward the supernatural, ask God to stretch your faith this week rather than staying comfortable at either extreme.
Stop making it all about the miracle
Don't chase signs and wonders as the goal; recognize that Jesus Himself, not what He gives you, is what actually satisfies your soul.
Come to Jesus in repentance
If you haven't yet, confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, the one miracle Scripture guarantees will happen every time.
Take communion as remembrance
Receive the bread and cup this week as an act of faith, remembering the body broken and blood poured out that purchased your life on this side of eternity.
Take it into your week
