Thesis
Drawing from Proverbs 31, Pastor Daniel outlines seven characteristics of a godly woman: she pursues holiness, walks in God-given capability, builds trust with her husband, speaks life with her words, chooses godly friendships, is a sexual blessing within marriage, and lives securely in the identity and dignity that Christ purchased for her on the cross. Together these traits form a counter-cultural portrait of womanhood rooted not in external appearance or marital status but in a soul consecrated before God.
Key points
- 1
A godly woman is virtuous — she pursues holiness by spending time in God's house, with God's people, and in God's Word, understanding that her greatest gift to the world is a life consecrated before the Lord.
- 2
A godly woman is capable — her capability comes not from a wedding band or motherhood but from the Spirit of God alive in her, equipping her to lead and fulfill the Great Commission.
- 3
A godly woman is trustworthy — she guards the trust of her husband by being careful and intentional with her words, refusing to gossip or demean him publicly or privately.
- 4
A godly woman chooses to speak life — knowing her words carry disproportionate weight with her husband, she uses them to encourage and build him up rather than tear him down.
- 5
A godly woman cultivates godly friendships — recognizing that the people in her inner circle are never neutral, she intentionally surrounds herself with women who are pursuing the same things.
- 6
A godly woman is a sexual blessing to her husband within marriage — she rejects the cultural standoff and goes first in pursuing physical intimacy, trusting that mutual sacrifice opens the door to a flourishing marriage.
- 7
A godly woman knows her value — she is a blood-bought daughter of the Most High God, clothed in strength and dignity, and does not look to the world to define her worth.
Outline
Introduction: The Price Tag of Value
Pastor Daniel opens with an illustration about luxury brands and the psychology of perceived value, using it to frame the sermon's central idea that every woman bears immeasurable worth because of the price Jesus paid for her life.
The Proverbs 31 Standard
Pastor Daniel introduces Proverbs 31, noting its authorship and context, and establishes that verse 10's description of a virtuous and capable wife sets the God-given standard for women that the sermon will unpack.
Principle 1 — Virtuous: Pursuing Holiness
A godly woman's greatest priority is the condition of her soul. Holiness is developed slowly through time in God's house, with God's people, and in God's Word — and the Spirit of God equips her to hear directly from Him.
Principle 2 — Capable: Walking in God-Given Gifting
A godly woman's capability is not contingent on marriage or children; it flows from the cross. Pastor Daniel challenges women to step into leadership and the Great Commission, rejecting the cultural limitation of their role.
Principles 3 & 4 — Trustworthy and Speaking Life
A godly woman builds trust by stewarding her words carefully — refusing to gossip or demean her husband — and instead chooses to speak life, knowing her words carry extraordinary weight in shaping the atmosphere of her marriage.
Principle 5 — Godly Friendships
The people a woman allows into her inner circle will pull her toward or away from God. Pastor Daniel calls women to be intentional about community, especially seeking older, mature women who can pour into the next generation.
Principle 6 — A Sexual Blessing to Her Husband
Within the covenant of marriage, a godly woman embraces sexuality as a beautiful gift and takes responsibility to pursue her husband physically, breaking the stalemate that stalls many marriages by choosing to go first.
Principle 7 — Knowing Her Value
A godly woman is clothed in strength and dignity because she is a blood-bought daughter of God. Her worth is not found in the world's approval but in the sacrifice of Jesus, and she lives and walks accordingly.
Memorable moments
the capability doesn't come from a wedding band, it comes from the cross
your words will create the atmosphere of your marriage
If you show me your friends, I'll show you your future
I am a blood bought daughter of the most high God, and I don't settle for what community and culture tells me my value is. I I
She is more precious than rubies
Holiness is something that that has to be cooked in a a a slow a cooker. Right? A a a crock pot type of thing. It's something that that takes time to develop
Application
Pastor Daniel calls every woman to stop looking to culture, Instagram, or even a husband to tell her who she is. The invitation is practical and immediate: pursue holiness through consistent time in God's Word and with God's people; speak life over your husband and your home rather than venting to friends who cannot help; build friendships intentionally with women who are running toward Jesus; and walk each day clothed in the strength and dignity that is already yours in Christ. You are not waiting to become valuable — the price was paid on the cross. Live like it.
