We just thank God for his presence. Let's just honor God one time. Lord, we thank you. Such an honor to be in the house. This is a dream come true for many, many reasons. Listen, when I was on the plane,
last time I got to be with you guys, I got on the plane. I told this to my wife. I was like, it would be a dream to go preach there, like, again real quick. And, you know, when it's really God, and I wanna say this for everyone in the room that maybe you are trying to figure out something and and wonder if it's the Lord or not. When it's God, you won't have to force it. It'll flow. It'll just be natural. And the the fact that this door is open to be with my family, And and and this is not my church, but pastor Daniel's church, but Echo's church. This feels like a dream come true. So, again, welcome to Echo's church. I've been preparing for this since I was 14. It is an honor that you are here, and I'm so excited to share a word. I really do believe that God has a word in store. I did not come to preach an idea nor did I come to give my opinion, but I came to preach,
what God asked me to preach. And we've been in a series talking about miracles. And, these last two services, God has done something good in each one, but we're in a service where I believe the Lord is gonna do something incredible specifically
just for you. In fact, in between of each service, I go to my bible and I make sure, Lord, is there anything else that I miss? Is there anything else you wanna say? And I don't know why he doesn't like the last two services, but he really likes you guys because he showed me something. I'm not lying. He showed me something,
at the end of my service. I'll I'll tell you, this is the thing I was talking about. I'll tell you what it is. And so I really do believe that he has a word in store for you. So we're gonna go to John chapter two. John chapter two. And can we just also honor pastor Daniel and the team here? This is such an incredible ministry.
And pastor Daniel's humility is, it's so so encouraging. I just love him, love his team, and love that I get to be here. Again, we're in John chapter two verse one through 11. On the third day,
there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee. The mother of Jesus was there. Jesus was also invited to the wedding with his disciples.
When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, they have no wine. And when Jesus said to her, woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come. His mother said to his servants, do whatever he tells you to do.
Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish rights and purification holding 20 to 30 gallons. Jesus said to his servants, fill the jars with water.
And they begin to fill them to the brim and he said to them, now draw out and take to to the master of the feast. So they took it. When the master of the feast tasted the water that now became wine, he did not know where it came from. Though the servants who had drawn the water knew, the master of the feast called the bridegroom and said, everyone serves the good wine first. And when the people have drunk freely, then the poor wine, but you have kept the good wine until now. The this is the first of the signs Jesus did at Cana in Galilee and manifested his glory and disciples believed him. I wanna preach a simple message entitled
entitled, a last minute miracle. Last minute miracle. Can we bow our heads and pray? Heavenly father, I thank you for this opportunity to share your word to your people. God, I pray that you would breathe on this service as you've breathed on the other services. We don't wanna replicate
what you did last service, but we want you to do what only you can do. Lord, we give you the glory and the honor in the mighty name of Jesus. And everybody said? Everybody said? Amen. Can we give it up for the worship team too who are absolutely incredible? Absolutely
incredible. Jared, it's good to see you, sir. I love you. Praying for you every day. I live for your wife's post. It's been incredible to see all the incredible things that the Lord is doing in this church. John chapter two
is a scene where we see Jesus not at the crucifixion. You know, usually when we hear this idea, the third day in Jesus, you think I'm gonna say resurrection, but this is the third day of him being at a celebration. He's at a wedding.
And the the primary picture that I really believe that the writers want us to see in this text is that we need to invite Jesus, not in just the crucifixion
in the heart situations of our life, but we need to invite him into the celebrations of our life too. We need to invite Jesus in. And this is a story where we see him at a wedding. And you have to understand that weddings in the Jewish culture in Israel in this time was a lot different than how it is right now. Now, I live in Gainesville, Georgia, but I grew up thirteen to fourteen years of my life in Las Vegas, Nevada. And that's where I went to middle school and high school and the beginning of my young adult years.
And I was like full on like Vegas. Like I worked at a twenty four hour Starbucks. People showed up at 3AM asking for 16 shots of espresso. I'm like, I don't know what you're going through that this makes sense, but here you go. I worked at a hotel, so I would see a lot of people come in. But eventually, I took a job as a wedding photographer
at Vegas weddings. Not not the not the weddings that last hours. I'm saying these quick, the shotgun weddings. That was my job. I was the guy. I didn't do the weddings. I just took the photos. And I remember this one day specifically, I was on my lunch. This guy comes in. He's like, excuse me. Is there anyone here that could do a wedding? I was like, oh, yeah. We got someone in the back. We'll have an opening like an hour. He's like, I got seven minutes.
It's like seven minutes. That's it. He's like, I got seven skip to the end. Get to the good stuff. I was like, alright. So they did the wedding. I'm taking photos. I'm getting like everything I can, and then the wedding was over. Seven minutes was over. He jumps on the plane probably an hour later, never to see that guy again. I hope their marriage is doing good. I think if you got married in seven minutes, I don't know how good it could be doing, but I hope they're still doing good.
But the weddings in the bible were a lot different than weddings in Vegas. They didn't last seven minutes, they lasted upwards of seven days. It was a celebration.
It was people coming in to celebrate the bridegroom and the bride for this new covenant, for this new marriage. This marriage meant a new family. This marriage meant new money. This marriage meant a new business. This marriage meant a new season. And everyone
wanted to be there to celebrate. And to have a proper celebration, you need wine. Now, when you hear wine, it's not just because they need alcoholic beverages. Wine represented joy. Wine represented that the Lord was with them. Wine represented that this was good. If you were to, at your wedding,
lose all the wine, if the wine were to get low and the wine is empty,
that would be a cultural scandal and people would be making fun and gossiping about you and your family. And the worst day to talk about if you're the worst experience that you could have as a woman is to be embarrassed on your wedding day. I remember getting married to my wife almost seven years ago, and if I would've embarrassed her that day, I would've saw Jesus that day. So you just know not to bother them on the day that they're getting married. Everybody knows that a wedding has nothing to do with the husband, has everything to do with that bride and her dreams, and and it's gonna break your bank account. But you know what? It's all good. God is good. And I remember
just getting married. And so I I know what it's like to have a celebration, but in this culture, if the wine were to run out, now people would begin to gossip. There would be a scandal. People would make fun. People would leave the wedding, and what should have been something great will become something embarrassing.
And so we need this wine
to last. We need this wine to continue. So when we're hearing this story and we see that the wine is running out, this is something that cannot happen. This is something that they need. But now the wine is getting empty and I wanna say this to anyone in this room that feels like you are empty. That you feel like you're empty of purpose. You feel like you're empty of passion. You feel like you're empty of focus or peace or whatever it is that there is something that you're longing for. I want you to know that empty is an invitation for Jesus.
Jesus actually like showing up in our life when we are at the end of ourselves, when we are empty and we are open before the Lord. It is right there that a miracle will take place. This is such a powerful story to me because it shows us that Jesus doesn't just wanna help me with the powerful things in my life, but he also wants to help me with the practical things in my life. And in this story, Jesus is instructed by his mother. His mother looks at him and says, Jesus, the wine is running out. And he says, woman, my time has not yet come.
If you are not Jesus, you cannot call your mom woman. Okay? I just wanna I just wanna go before I go further, because people will hear that and they'll go home and you have playing a video game. Your mom says, come downstairs. Woman, you're gonna die. Don't call her woman. Call her ma'am. Listen. I'm from the South. I called my dad last week. It was his birthday. He turned 52, and I was like, hey, dad. Happy birthday.
Sir, happy birthday, sir. He was like, thank you, son. He waited for that, sir. That, sir, is very important to him. You have to know that in this text, woman is not him being disrespectful. It's a version of ma'am. He's actually being respectful. He's saying, ma'am, mom, Mary, my time has not yet come. And how frustrating is that?
When you want him to do something in your life and he says not now. He doesn't say not now, he just says not now. But sometimes not now, doesn't it feel like a no? When you need something because everyone in this room needs something from Jesus. There are some of you, maybe the thing that you need is something financial.
Maybe it's a bill that needs to be paid. Maybe it's a a debt that you're trying to pay. Maybe it's something that you're trying to take care of. Maybe it's not financial. Maybe it's your marriage,
and you're needing God to show up in your marriage. Marriage is a hard thing. I know there's some people in this room that you're single. The hardest thing that you're gonna do in life is be married because someone's going to see all your inconsistencies,
all the ways that you're selfish, all the ways that you're inconsiderate, and they're gonna call you out and call you up, and it's hard to be called out sometimes. But Jesus says, I wanna help you even with that.
He wants to help you with your marriage. He wants to help you with your family. He wants to help you with that thing that's going on in your life. Whatever you're ruminating on, whatever you've been thinking about, Jesus wants to help you with that thing. In John chapter two, it's wine representing joy. But in today, in 2025, it could be a peace that you're desperate of.
It could be a joy that you need. Maybe something happened to you long time ago, and you don't even have a joy in your spirit.
And Jesus can be the answer to that. We don't think he can be, but in the story, we see that Jesus is a lot more than what we make him out to be. Some of us only call on Jesus in emergency situations, so we only see Jesus in emergency situations. But when you invite him in practically,
when you when you invite him into your life and begin to do the thing he's asking you to do, you see miracles. This story is so interesting to me because Mary tells Jesus, the wine is running out, and he says, woman, my time has not yet come. And she immediately looks at the servants, the disciples, and she says, hey. Do whatever he tells you to do Because she is perceiving that Jesus is about to tell them to do something, and they need to be open and available and submitted to the thing that God wants to do. And I need to say this to somebody. Do whatever the Lord is telling you to do.
And when God asks us to do something, it's usually not something crazy or something miraculous. Usually, it's mundane. In this case, Jesus is asking his disciples. He says, hey. I want you to go and fill the jars. Now these jars that they're filling,
these are ceremonial jars. This is where people would've walked in. They would've washed their hands here to prepare, but this this jar would've been really clean because it's it's it's it's used for ceremonies. And because it's used for ceremonies, it has to be clean. It has to be pristine. So Jesus is saying, hey. I want you guys to go fill the water.
Just go do it. Notice what he's asking is not anything miraculous. It's mundane. And usually, that's what God will ask you to do. He's not asking you to do something miraculous and huge. Sometimes he's asking you to do something small and mundane. Can you listen to God in the little things? Can you listen to the God in the small things? Whatever the Lord is asking you to do, that's my second point, is that you would do whatever the Lord is asking you. In this particular story, it's fill the water jars.
If you're the if you're the disciples. But I remember something the Lord asked me to do practically. And I told this to the last service. They asked me. They said, you
say a lot that the Lord spoke to you. And the reason that I believe the Lord speaks me so much is not because I'm special. I don't think he has a deal. Maybe he does like curly haired black kids. Maybe he does. Maybe I got a connection that y'all don't have, but I don't really believe that. I just believe that if you talk to God about everything, he'll talk to you about everything.
Most of us talk to God about a few things because we only want answers here, but God is so big and he is so huge that he will speak to you about everything. And I remember I had a practical moment, a fill the jars moment in 2021.
I was an evangelist at a church. I mean, I was a youth pastor at a church in Jacksonville, Florida,
and it was Easter service. And the pastor got up to do the communion. And I remember as he's getting up to do the communion, I was on the side of the stage. And as soon as he lifted the cup up, something in me said, forgive your father. And I was like, I bind you, devil, in the name of Jesus. Leave me alone. I'm not forgiving him. Why would I forgive him? He left me.
Why would I forgive him? He created issues in my life. Why would I forgive him? He hurt me. His lack of presence in my life has created way way more problems for me than it asked for him. God, why would I forgive him? I remember being so frustrated later on that day. I told the senior pastor, hey, this is what the Lord told me to do. He told me to forgive my dad. He's like, believe that's the Lord. I was like, I rebuke you too in the name of Jesus.
I was like, leave me alone. I'm not forgiving him. I don't wanna forgive him because I feel like I deserve to hate him. I don't wanna forgive him.
But God will pester us with simple things because, again, it is the simple things. It is supernormal things that lead to supernatural things. It's not supernatural things that lead to supernatural. It's supernormal things. It's God asking you do something that's supernormal, super simple,
but it will have a profound impact in your life if you were to do this thing.
It's March. I'm not forgiving him. April is not forgiving him. May is a hard month because May is the month that my brother was murdered in that mass shooting, and I'm always very sensitive in that month, and I remember that earlier a few weeks prior to this moment with my dad, I told my wife, was like, let's go to Mississippi. Let's visit the burial site of everyone that died. It wasn't just my brother who died. Seven other people died as well. And we went to the burial site, and I remember right after I got in the car, the Lord said, forgive your dad.
And I was like, okay, God. I'm gonna forgive him. And so I'm out here working this moment up in the passenger side like, okay. I forgive you, man. So I said, hey, dad. I just want you to know
the Lord's been working on me, and I just want you to know, man, I I forgive you. And without missing the beat, he's driving. He's like, oh, I thought you forgave me already. I was like, I hate you again. I literally was like, I just do not like you at all. And
I was so frustrated. And I was like, I just want you to know that I forgive you. I love you. And even though you weren't in my life, you know, growing up from here on out, you can be in my life. And I wanna say this because I think sometimes we get so used to circumstances as a child that even when we grow up as an adult and there's time to change it, we'll we're held hostage by 17 or a 14 year old version of our self refusing to move forward. But sometimes God will say, hey, it was okay for you withhold at 14, but maybe now at 34 or at 46 or at 57,
God wants to change the way that you treat a person. Yeah, maybe at first it was distance, but maybe now what God wants is proximity. You gotta be willing to listen to what the Lord is asking you to do, and I didn't wanna do this at all. But I forgave my my brother. I forgave my dad. And in forgiving my dad, I'll show you how good God is. In forgiving my dad, there was a miracle that I didn't even think was connected to this. When my brother passed away,
I I really don't like talking about it and the reason I don't is because I wasn't involved in his life. I have over I have 12 different siblings. I feel like we got the sons of Jacob over here, but the ghetto sons of Jacob. Like like if I'm Joseph, it's like black Joseph, it's Tyshawn, you know. So
we have a lot of different children and and when my brother died three months prior before this
before it happened, I was leading a meeting. I was asked to lead a meeting at a church that I was trying to work at. And I was so excited to lead this meeting that when my brother called, I looked at my phone and I thought this to myself, it's so odd that he's calling me. I should answer
but I really, you know, this is ministry, this is my dream, I'll call him back. I never called him back, three months later he died. So that stays in my mind. In fact, I was afraid to even post about death because I felt like a fraud. Like how are you gonna tell the world you miss a person that you ignored?
All these voices in my mind, all these things and I felt like I was a good minister but I was a horrible brother and I didn't wanna be one of those people that when I traveled, the people that hear me preach love me but the people that know me personally hate me. I didn't want that to happen. But slowly but surely, I realized I was becoming something that I wanna be, and the Lord kept telling me, forgive your forgive your dad. Forgive your dad. Forgive your dad. I forgave him in this conversation, in the same conversation
of forgiveness. I said, dad,
I don't really know how many siblings I have and I don't even know all their names. And so I would love for you to give me a roll call right now and let's start from the top and let's get to the latest child and we'll and we'll go from there because papa was a rolling stone. So I got to I got to know. So he starts naming all the children and after he gets to Jordan, in my mind, Jordan's my youngest brother. I know I got some young sisters that he's about to name but Jordan was my youngest brother.
And he said, you know what, you have another brother named Christian.
And I remember turning and looking at him and I was like, what? How old is he? And he was 16. Last service I told him he was 17. He wasn't. He was 16 at the time. I remember immediately getting in his life and started calling him and texting him. And one of the reasons that I do even to this day is because I believe he deserves a brother. And sometimes I love him a little extra, not because he's Christian, but because in my mind, sometimes he's Jordan. He's a representation of that. And it's crazy to me that in me forgiving my father,
it opened up a relationship with a brother that I didn't even know I had that allowed me now to feel fulfilled in an area that I had so much regret. It's a practical thing. It's a super normal thing.
It sounds supernatural when you hear the whole story, doesn't it? Wow. He has a whole another brother. It didn't feel supernatural. It just felt like, hey. I'm supposed to forgive my dad. I'm supposed to do what he's asking me to do. What the Lord is asking the disciples to do is not anything crazy. It's super normal,
but it's super practical. And if you do the practical thing that the Lord is asking you to do, it will follow be followed by a profound truth and a profound miracle in your life. And we see this with them. They're all filling
the jars with water because that's what Jesus asked. I want you to go fill the jars with water. Imagine being all the disciples, and it's all 12 of them. They're like, hey, they need wine. I wonder who's gonna get the wine. I wonder if Jesus is gonna go get the wine while we're filling the waters.
Because even when you're a part of a miracle, you don't think you are. We we think miracles feel like miracles. They don't. They feel mundane. It feels like a Monday. Don't you hate a Monday? I love a Monday, but I know a lot of people don't like Monday. I love Monday.
And we think a miracle feels like a Friday afternoon that's free. No. It feels like that Monday annoying follow-up, but you're in a miracle because God is about to do something with it. They're filling these water
these jars up. And I can imagine the conversation. So where the wine who's gonna grab the wine? Judas, you can go grab the wine. You know, you go still. You know, you're good at that. You know, they can all figure their thing out.
And they're just being normal. This doesn't feel like a miracle. I'm trying to set this up so for the person that leaves and you're like, this doesn't feel like a miracle. It never does. It never does. It feels mundane. It feels normal.
They fill the water up to the jar because that's what the Lord asked them to do. They did the thing the Lord has asked them to do. Do whatever the Lord is asking you to do for some of you. He is asking you to forgive somebody.
The first service, I was talking about my dad, but someone walked up to me after and she said, I just feel like the Lord has been telling me to forgive my mom for years.
Tears rolling down her eyes. I said, forgive her. Forgive her. Who knows what's on the other side of this simple thing? For some of you, this simple thing may not be forgiveness. It may just be read your bible more. Pray. Spend time with the Lord. Give of your time. It can be something so practical.
They did the practical thing.
They listened to the Lord and Jesus tells them now, hey, I want you to serve that water to the master. Go serve it. And and if it's me, if I was a disciple, would be like, Jesus, this is not what he's expecting. He doesn't want his his his mouth to be quenched. He wants more wine, Jesus.
But this is what you're asking me to do. I'm gonna dip from the water, and I'm gonna give it to him. He he here you go, sir. And he takes that first sip.
Well, you don't drink wine like that. I don't know I don't know what that was. I don't drink wine. But when I watch, I know they kinda do that, and that's the whole thing. And then they and then they look at it. You know, I see it, and they you smell the notes. Right? That's the thing, the notes. And and and to me, it just seems crazy.
He takes a sip, and he says, wow. A normal person usually brings out their best stuff in the beginning and then tapers off to the poor stuff in the end.
And also this image that Jesus is sharing is also how life works sometimes. We feel like in the beginning, we have everything we need. We feel like when we're young and we're dumb and we have life just prepared for us, we think in our twenties, it's good. But then in thirties, gets weird. In the forties, it gets rough. In the fifties, let's try to maintain the sixties. Where's our retirement in seventies? Well, I'm just grateful to be here, and then I don't really know anyone in their eighties. But if you're here, God has a plan for your life in the eighties, sir. I think Moses became the leader of the Israelites at eighties, so he has a plan for you too or something like that. So
God is asking them to do something so specific, something so small, but a miracle is about to take place. He takes that sip and he says, wow, you saved the best for last. Now who is he talking to? He's talking to the bridegroom.
And so imagine you're the bridegroom, you weren't in the conversation with Mary and the disciples,
you have no idea what he's even referencing. You're just like, what? That's the best you ever had? I I know it is. Hey, I know it is. That's right. And walking away, the bridegroom was unaware of the miracle that already took place in his life. Are you unaware of the miracle that's already taken place in your life?
Are you aware of all the things that God has already did and people are thanking you for something like, oh, yeah, that's good. No, that's not good. That's God. That's not normal. That's supernatural.
The thing that they're thanking you for is not something that you concocted in and of yourself. The thing that they're thanking you for is something that the Lord did. It is not something super normal. This is supernatural. The bridegroom had no idea though, and the bride had no idea.
And even the people partaking in the wine had no idea. The only people who knew this was a miracle were the disciples, Jesus, and Mary. It was I know it's known as his first public miracle, but in fact, it's actually his first private miracle. It's public to the disciples, but it's still private to the other people.
And that's how usually God wants to work in our life. Before he starts doing things publicly, he wants to do something for you privately. I've seen this in my life. It is hard for me over the years to believe God for big things. You wanna know why? Because I couldn't even believe him for small things.
So when I had a big prayer, it was hard to bring that to him because I wasn't listening to him in the small things. But when you begin to listen to to the Lord in little things,
eventually you can trust him with the big things. And these water to wine moments get bigger and bigger and bigger as the time goes on. Now, here's the thing that I was gonna tell you before service. Was like, I'm really excited for the third service. I guess those first and second service. They were heathens. Yeah, they were. They were heathens. They weren't ready for this truth but you are.
I was reading the bible right before going through John chapter two and the Lord illuminated something that I believe he wants to illuminate for you is that and it's and it's it's very simple. I probably oversold it like it was something really profound. It's not. But the
originally where he asked them to put the water is the water jug. He's just the the stones. He says, hey, the stone jar, just put water in there. It's known as a place
where you go get your hands clean. That's what that is. That's not weird. That's just what it is. But when God got a hand on it, when you invite God in, what he does is that he repurposes
things for your life. And there's somebody in this room, and I really feel this is the word for you. He wants to repurpose things in your life. You decided that it's only for that. This God can only do this miracle with something like this, but God says, can I can I have that?
Can can you trust me with it? Can you allow me to repurpose some pains?
Can you allow me to repackage some stories? I know you've told yourself multiple times that this is what happened and God can never do a miracle, but can you give that to me and can you watch the Lord do a miracle in your life and repurpose pain, repurpose issues, repurpose and repackage things in a different way? Can you allow what seemed to just be a water jar to some is actually the place where this new wine is coming out of? God has a way of repurposing our lives and trains and transforming our life. I thought that when I first heard the story, I thought it would have been easier for Jesus to just bring down wine.
They need wine, give them wine. But he wanted to show his transformative power in the story. Meaning, yeah, I can I can make wine come out of nowhere, but what it it shows my power more if I turn water into wine? If I turn something into something else.
You're looking at a person that I feel like the Lord has turned my life from water to wine.
I look up and I get to see what I get to do for the Lord every time. Every time I grab a microphone, anytime I do anything, anytime I get to tell anybody about Jesus and pray for him at all, I'm always shocked because I'm just the guy that my dad left me. I had addictions too. I have problems too. I have issues too. I wasn't even my I'm not even the favorite in anybody's family. I wasn't picked for anything. No one thought I would be a great preacher. No one thought I would be a good minister. I was just a guy that just said, God, I'm available. But when you listen to the Lord and you do the simple things, you know what happens? He turns your water in wine. And now I get to stand up and preach around the world, and people are choosing me, and I'm on staff and coming on a staff like a church like this. What how does this happen? God turns water into wine, but how does he do it practically?
Practically. My last point is that wasted waiting time is never wasted time. When you're waiting on God to do something, that is not wasted time. Even though he's not moving, he's doing something in you. Any season in my life where I realize that God's not doing something through me, that just means he's doing more in me.
I may not have anything coming through yet. I may not have the idea yet. The business may have not been boom yet, but there's a peace going on on the on the inside. There's a focus going on on the inside. I'm not going to the things that I used to go to. I'm not feeling the way that I used to feel. What is the Lord doing? In the gap between the miracle and right now is God doing something in you.
God has been doing something in me, and God wants to do something in you. This story shows us that you can invite Jesus into the practical things into your life. He was invited to the wedding. I wanna encourage you, invite Jesus into your circumstance.
Don't just save it for the worst day. Well, I'll call Jesus on the worst day. No. Call Jesus on the first day. Invite Jesus in in the beginning and watch the miracles that take place. The disciples saw something about Jesus
in this moment that they never realized before. This was the beginning of them looking at him different. This is the first miracle that they're like, wow, if he can turn water into wine, I wonder what else he could do with water.
Maybe that's something that Peter thought. I wonder what else he could do with water. Well, he ends up walking on water. The storms are howling against them. The rain is coming against them, and he tells the he tells the storm to stop, he tells water to stop.
You can see that this is the beginning of Jesus being able to control elements and control things that people didn't even believe was possible.
But when you see him in the little things, when you can believe him for the small things, eventually can grow in the sea that he will do some big things. He wants to do some big things in your life. He wants to turn your water into wine. As I end my sermon,
I really do believe that there is something practically the Lord is asking each and every one of us to do.
I think it's practical. I don't think it's something big. There is someone sitting down and you're like, he's asking me to give a million dollars. No. He's not asking you to do a million dollars. He's asking you to forgive your wife. But that's hard, isn't it?
He's not asking you to do something crazy. He's just asking you to be a present father or a present mother.
What is the thing God is asking of you in this season? There's some of you, every week you come to this church, you've been coming, and every time you see people volunteering, the Lord is saying, you need a volunteer. And you're like, I don't got the time now.
And God says, no, but you need a volunteer. Like, God, I don't want to. God, I'm single. I'm frustrated. And God's like, you need a volunteer.
I don't want to. I'll tell you what happens. If this if this fits you, I've seen this happen so many times. You start volunteering. You're like, I don't even like this. Whatever. I'm a volunteer. They want me to show up at what time? Oh, 05:15 in the morning. In the morning?
My gosh. Okay. I'll show up. And you show up and you're like, I don't know why the Lord wants me to volunteer. There's so many much time that I can be given to so many other things. And then you see another guy walk in and you're like, hey, who's he?
And then he's single and you didn't know that the Lord told him the same thing he told you. He's over here just frustrated about life, just trying to figure out who he's supposed to be, what he's supposed to do, and God says, you need to start volunteering at the church. I wanna volunteer at the church.
Not knowing that when you volunteer, bro, the girl you've been dreaming about, you're gonna see her serving together. You've been finding girls on the outside, and it's been ruining you on the inside. Imagine if you found a woman of God on the inside.
How about you just start serving in the church? I don't even know why I'm telling this story. Maybe this is for somebody. Maybe this is a miracle in motion. And you start serving,
and then before you know it, he starts changing things in you. He starts doing things in you. And here's the thing, you gotta be willing to do the things that even you don't wanna do because he has something for you. If you have been encouraged by any message that I have said, whether it was the last time or even right now in this present moment, I want you to know that when the Lord told me to be an evangelist, I did it kicking and screaming.
So I don't wanna do this.
I don't wanna be an evangelist. I don't think anyone would care. I don't think people would take me seriously. God, I don't like saying alliterations in my messages. I don't like shouting in my messages. People aren't gonna feel impact. They're not gonna do anything. And God says, Tyshawn, just you do the simple thing and preach.
And when I preach, he ministers. If you're feeling something, I promise it has nothing to do with me. All I know is my prepared sentences, but what you're experiencing, that is the power of the Holy Spirit, not the power of Tyshawn. And God has a way
of getting you where you need to go and showing you miracles in their life, but the miraculous is always wrapped in the mundane. He's asking you to do something mundane this week. I want you to do that thing.
If it's been hard for you, if you've been withholding in your heart, and I don't and I know I'm not preaching about forgiveness, but I think forgiveness is so important. Do you know that right before Jesus died on the cross,
that there was a person next to him cursing him and even the people in front of them, whipping him, chastising him? You know what he says on the cross? He says, Lord, forgive them for they know not what they do. And that always shocked me because they didn't know what they were doing. They knew the action,
but they actually didn't know the reaction that it was gonna cause. They didn't really know who he was, and Jesus had forgive them for what they do not know because they really didn't know. I need to say this for someone. I need to set somebody free. If your dad really knew that it was gonna make you feel this way, I don't know if they would have did it. So forgive them for he knew not what he did.
Forgive your mom for she knew not what she did. I know that best friend hurt you so much and you lost your job and everything was horrible. Forgive them because God can't take you in a place of freedom if you're just walking with unforgiveness. You gotta do the practical thing.
So I don't know who you are. I don't know what the simple things he's asking you to do, but promise you, if you do the simple thing The disciples didn't think they were a part of a miracle that moment. They just thought they were pouring water. And sometimes it feels stupid. You feel silly being faithful
because sometimes you look foolish to people. But then as you as long as you stay faithful, God will do his part, and it is his part to turn the water into wine, but someone has to put the water in the jar. And I'm inviting you this week to put the water in your jar.
Whatever thing he's asking you to do, we have to do it. Well pastor Tyshawn, I don't know what that thing is. I'm glad that you don't. There's some people you know exactly what it is.
Maybe he's asking you to confess something, maybe he's asking you to let something go, maybe he's asking you to give, maybe he's asking you to just step out. It's a practical thing. And before I leave and your schedule gets bombarded with your phone and your families and everything, I want us to give a time right now. So I want everyone to bow your heads.
I want you to close your eyes. Heavenly father, I pray whatever thing you're asking your servants to do that you give them the faith to do it. God, I pray that you give them a simple instruction today. I pray that they will not get peace, Lord, until they do the thing that you're asking them to do.
And God, I pray that immediately after they do it, that they will begin to sense miracles happen in their life. In the name of Jesus, amen. You can look at me. I'm telling you, I know whatever he put on your mind, you're like, there's no way that this can equal that.
There's no way that I thought forgiving my dad would open up a relationship with another brother that I didn't even know I had. I had no idea,
but God has a way of doing these things. And so when you leave this week, I want you to leave in anticipation that anytime he's asking you to fill water in a jar, it's because he's about to do something miraculous in your life. I wanna say this for somebody, something miraculous is coming.
You're not gonna stay in this depression. You're not gonna stay in this anxiety.
You're not gonna live with this fear. You're not gonna live here. I have to stay back here so it stays lit up. They told me that so y'all can see me. I don't want y'all not be able to see me. I'm light skinned but I ain't that light. Okay? So I'll stay over here. I want you to listen to him.
And then for other people in this room, you don't know him, I want you to put your faith in Jesus Christ. My brother died
on a Saturday night around midnight going into Sunday. He had no idea that was gonna take place. You have no idea what will take place over the next twenty four hours. You have no idea. So don't delay what you can do today. If
you wanna put your faith in Jesus Christ, I want you to do that today. So with every head bowed and every eye closed, if you're in this room and you want to put your faith in Jesus Christ,
I want you to lift your hand when I count to three and we're gonna say a prayer with you and we're gonna celebrate for you. One, you know who you are. Two,
three, just lift your hands. Just lift your hands. Just lift your hands. I see hands all over. Hands all over. If we could, I want us to repeat this prayer for everyone that's coming to Christ for the first time. I want everyone to say, Jesus. Say, Jesus, come into my life. Be my Lord and be my savior. Today,
I put my faith, my trust, and my hope in you. In the name of Jesus. And everybody said, amen and amen. Can we thank God for the people that put their faith in Jesus Christ today? And if you could, could you stand?
Listen, I know that we have a full day after this our last service. Please go get some merch. We had a merch drop. Please go get that. We'd love to see you in the lobby. But before we go out there and we get so used to just life changing,
I want you to listen to that still small voice. There's gonna be that voice and listen to me. The enemy wants you to memorize that voice so much. He doesn't want you to listen to it. I want you to listen to it because there is victory coming.
There is victory coming, and I even feel this specifically. I know we have some young people. If you're in this room and you're under the age of 21, can you lift your hands? Can you lift your hands? If you see someone who has their hand lifted, can you put your shoulder on there?
Heavenly father, I just thank you for every young person in this room.
I pray that God gives you favor all the days of your life, young man. I know you don't know me, but I pray that he gives you favor. I pray you have way more favor than me, and I got a lot of favor. I pray that he opens up doors for you. I pray that he raised down resources. I pray that you're a leader amongst your friends.
I pray that God be glorified in your life at such a young age. I pray for every young lady in this room that you will not feel led to do things that you'll regret. I pray for every young man in this room to be a man and not be a boy. I thank you that, Lord, you're doing something new. Let it be said that every young person that came out of Echoes Church was a person of integrity, a person of purity, a person of power. God, I thank you for what you're doing, and I thank you for what you're continuing to do in the mighty name of Jesus. And everybody said, amen and amen. I'll see you guys later. See you next week.
