Well, good morning, Echoes Church. How are we doing this morning? We good? We're live and well?
Man, always a privilege to get to be with you. If I have not met you yet, my name is Daniel. I'm the lead pastor here, and we're just we're honored that you're here with us. If today's your first time, we hope you feel welcome.
And again, I know that I'm biased, but I think you found the greatest church in the history of the world, and you can you can stop searching. Alright? But,
yeah, we're just we're excited that you're here with us. And today is kind of a a a special day, and I need you to help me celebrate something. My wife is gonna hate me for doing this, but today is my wife's birthday. And so come on.
And so today, she's officially
36. She's hands down the best looking 36 year old I've ever seen in my life. And so I'm gonna ask if she would. She's over there. She's gonna hate me for this. Like, personality, she's cringing on the inside. I'm gonna ask her to stand up. She's got our little baby that we're the process of fostering to adopt with her. Of course, she's got a baby strapped to her.
If you don't know Ashley, she is the greatest human on the face of the planet. This church doesn't exist without you. You are the greatest gift that God has ever given me, and I love you, and I hope it's the greatest birthday ever. Can we just give her a round of applause? For her
for her sake, I will not make us sing happy birthday to her because she's already cringing and wishing that I had not done this. But again, truth, I I mean, it's not just platitudes. This church would not exist without her and her faithfulness.
It was God speaking to her. It's been her encouragement the whole way. And so I think there's not a more fitting way to talk about what we're gonna talk about today, which is how to be a godly woman when I've got one of the greatest examples of it in my life. And obviously,
I've never been a woman, but I've gotten to watch up close what a godly woman looks like. And so I wanna share with you some principles today as we close out this series on learning how to do relationships God's ways, on how to how to be a godly woman. And again, I know we're ending a series and this series has been fun. I hope I hope it's been helpful to you, but next week we're starting a new series that I'm just as excited about. I hope that we'll see you guys. Therefore, we're gonna start a three week series getting ready for Easter,
talking about how how to come back. What is the way back when you've made a decision where you end up in a place you go, man, I don't I don't wanna be here. And and I just have a a belief that people stay stuck because they don't know the way back. And so we're gonna look at some of these powerful stories of redemption
and restoration in the bible, praying and believing that God is going to call some people home as we get ready for Easter. So I hope to see you guys next week as we start that series. But if you got a bible, open them up to Proverbs chapter 31. I know the most cliche verse for women in the bible, but it's powerful. It's an important it's an important chapter. And ironically, today is International Women's Day. It's like, man, I plan this series really well. You know? Like, accidentally did a series or the topic of women on International Women's Day. So Proverbs 31, you turn there. I'll pray for us. We'll jump in. Father, we thank you, God, so much for who you are. God, we ask that you would speak specifically
and directly to every single person that's here today. Holy Spirit, we know that you're here. We know that you're moving, and so we give you permission, not that you need it, to speak to us and to encourage us and to challenge us and to walk to walk out of this room different than we walked in here. We love you. It's Jesus in mighty and holy name. All God's people said,
amen and amen. I don't know if you guys saw this prank that was going around a couple months ago. A good buddy of mine that I work out with every morning, his wife got him good with this prank. And what it was was you literally, you like gave somebody a rock and you were like, hey, here's a gift for you. And connected to it was this tag from anthropology
that was like crazy, like $500 or $1,200. This is the chat GBT version of it. So what she did is she literally took this rock after she went to anthropology.
She put it up on a shelf and her husband eventually saw it and she's like he's like, what what is that? She's like, that's the anthropology rock. He's like, you bought a rock from anthropology? And for any husband that knows when their wife goes to anthropology, like, gotta set credit card limits and stuff, you know, like, you start to start to get terrified even if it's the discount store that we have in Gilbert. It's like, it's not discounted enough for us to afford it. Right? And so he asked her about this rock and she's like, yeah, was only $500, but it's amazing. Right? And he loses his mind. He's like texting everybody, checking all of his credit card statements and I was dying. And honestly, she held out the like the prank for a while and eventually was like, no. It's just a a joke that's going around. But the funny part is the only reason that the prank was even possible was because we know that anything connected to anthropology
just means lots of dollars. And there there's something about luxury brands that's really kind of interesting from like a sociological
standpoint. They've done all these studies that have shown they'll they'll take a product, they'll give it to somebody and they'll say, hey, it costs $5 and they're like, oh, okay. Whatever. I'd I'd rank it a two out of 10. But they'll then feed the same product to a person in a different way and they'll tell them the product costs $5,000
or they'll say that the food or the wine costs, you know, 10 times what they thought it did and all of sudden they're like, wow, this backpack is amazing. This wine is the best I've ever tasted not knowing that it was the exact same thing that was there before, but this phenomenon that happens in your mind when you when you see something that has a high price tag to it, you associate
greater worth to it. And I was thinking about this, I was thinking about that idea when when this topic I knew was coming up about what a godly woman is and what a godly woman is supposed to understand. Because what what the world sees as common, which is just a female,
the scriptures say, no, no, that is somebody of immeasurable value. That it is something that is incredibly of high worth and my hope and my goal this morning is to help every single female in here understand
that you are you are a treasure, you are a gift from heaven and the proof of your value is the price tag that Jesus paid for your life. He gave his very life for you. And so my hope this morning is I have seven principles I wanna show you of what the scriptures say a godly woman does, who a godly woman is. Now again, with the caveat, let me just you know, kinda get the elephant out of the room. I've never been a woman day in my life. Okay? I I've never been one. I don't claim to be one. I don't ever want to be one but I do know the scriptures have some things to say. This is not Daniel's thoughts of how to mansplain to you how to be a godly woman. Okay? Is that what I'm trying to do? I just wanna show you these are what the scriptures say. And I also again, I also wanna kinda have an honest conversation. So often what we do is when we gather the men, our message to the men is like die to yourself and you're a terrible human. You gotta stop doing all these bad things and go die for your family and be charged up. And we're like, okay, so I'm gonna go do it. And then we gather the women and the messaging is like, you're amazing.
You're enough. Shine bright like a diamond. Okay? Like and
I'm not saying that different messaging to different groups of people is not needed, but I I am just saying that sometimes we shy away from the hard truth that sometimes I think women need to hear just as much as men. And my my commitment was last week, I'm gonna go hard after the men going, hey, this is the standard for guys and I'm also gonna do the same thing today for women going, hey, this is the standard.
I gave the caveat last week and I will say it again this week. If you are a gentleman in the room today, today is not the day to start becoming an amenor. Okay? Like if you like a point that I say, there there's no holy cows in church today. You know what a holy cow is? They're like, that's good. I
like that pastor. Today's not the day to start. Okay? I totally I totally welcome you preaching with me. I would encourage it, but today's not the day to start if you don't naturally
do that. Okay? Proverbs chapter 31, I'm gonna kinda go verse at a time. Again, seven principles if you're taking notes of of what and who a godly woman is. Proverbs chapter 31 starts this way in verse 10. It says, who can find a virtuous
incapable wife? If you've got a bible, highlight, underline, circle those two terms, those two words, virtuous and capable. She is more precious than rubies. Proverbs 31 is an interesting chapter because obviously it's it's famous. Right? The the verse of the day in the bible app today is out of Proverbs 31.
It's an incredible verse. Everybody knows, okay, be a Proverbs 31 woman, a Proverbs 31 wife. What's interesting is we don't really actually know who wrote Proverbs 31. It's ascribed to a king that we're not sure who he is. We don't really have much information about him. A lot of theologians actually believe that it was King Solomon,
the guy that wrote the majority of the book of Proverbs and Song of Songs, which we looked at last week. Most people believe that it was him that wrote it that just gave credit to this king as kind of an illustration, but but either way, it's an incredibly important chapter for us to understand God's standards and God's beliefs for women. And right out of the gate, we learned two principles, that godly women are are virtuous and they're capable and it says he who finds her finds great treasure, great rubies.
And again, this is the principle that every dude in here needs to hear. If you have a girlfriend, a fiance, a wife that is pursuing the things of God with you, hear me, you have an incredible treasure. If your wife desired to come to church with you today, the scriptures say you have something that is of immeasurable
value.
Do not believe the cultural lie that value is just physical in nature. No. No. No. It's not. Physical beauty is it it can start a relationship, but it's a terrible foundation to build your relationship on. But what is important is the character and the condition of her soul and her heart and you may know people that fit this bill, but I know guys that have immeasurable
wealth and they have a terrible relationship with their wife and I'm telling you, they are not living a blessed life, but the inverse can be true where you can walk through seasons of financial difficulty, in hardship,
in loss but if you have a God honoring, God fearing wife, I'm telling you, you can have a blessed life. Gentlemen, you and I have to realize that the gift that God has given you in a wife that is pursuing the things of God is greater than any treasure that this world can buy. So treat her accordingly.
But women, this is about you, not us. Okay? So pay attention. Here's the first thing. Here's the first thing that Proverbs chapter 31 tells us about a godly woman. It says a godly woman is virtuous. Another word for virtue in the scriptures is is holiness.
It is it is a person, it's a woman who realizes that my my value to this world, though culture will tell you that it's about external
appearances and that the greatest thing that I need to work on is the way that I look and that's the value that I give to a future husband, that's the value that I give to the world. No no no, a godly woman realizes
that the greatest gift that I can give the world, the greatest gift that I can give my my current husband or my future husband is a life that has been consecrated before the Lord. A life that is growing in knowledge understanding of who Jesus is. See, holiness is one of those things that you can't you can't buy it, you can't achieve it, you can't work for it, you can't just microwave it overnight.
Holiness is something that that has to be cooked in a a a slow a cooker. Right? A a a crock pot type of thing. It's something that that takes time to develop. It's why it's why it's so important. What what is holiness? Holiness biblically is this idea of being set apart for a godly
purpose. You see, so so often the struggle for both men and women is that as we begin to turn our lives over to God, as we begin to follow God in that culture,
we start to feel and see, well, there's some things in here that the scripture says that I'm I'm no longer able to do and it feels like God is restricting me. But a a godly woman realizes that God God is not trying to limit you, he's trying to prepare you and what God will often do is he will set you aside, he will set you apart not because he's trying to isolate you but he's trying to take you through a process of preparation
because what God is after, what God is looking for both in men and women is he's looking for vessels that he can pour his spirit into to begin to change the world around us, but these are the vessels that God is looking for. They're not impressive vessels. They're not perfect vessels. They're not qualified vessels. What God is looking for is he's looking for and he's searching for holy vessels.
And godly women begin to realize that the greatest thing that I need to spend the most time working on is not my body at Pilates. Though the reformer, man, it sounds it sounds amazing. I don't even think I could try it. I'm not flexible enough to do it. More power to you. But a godly woman realizes the thing I'm gonna spend the bulk of my time growing and perfecting
is my soul before the Lord. The holiness that I can achieve on my own. How do you grow in holiness? The recipe biblically is pretty simple. You spend a lot of time in the house of God. You spend a lot of time around the people of God, and then you learn the primary way that God will speak to you and grow you in holiness is through the revealed word of God. Holiness is a combination of spending time in God's house, with God's people, in God's God's presence, in God's word. And what women of God begin to realize is that, wait, the spirit of God now lives in me. And I can actually sit down and I can hear from God. I I don't have a a second class version of the holy spirit that you've been given the same spirit of God that every man has and you have the ability to hear from hear from God. What does a godly woman do when she's searching for direction? She's not reading horoscope.
She's not going to Instagram finding the greatest influencer to tell her how to parent and how to navigate relational tension. No. A godly woman realizes that because I've been set apart, because I'm a holy vessel, that I can look to the word of God to speak to me and truly believe and realize what Psalm chapter one nineteen says to be true. Says that your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. That a godly woman begins to realize, hey, when I when I need direction, I go to the word of God. When I'm seeking clarity on a decision, I go to the word of God. Community, friendships, conversations, they can be helpful, but a godly woman realizes, no, I've I've been set apart. I've got the spirit of God alive and active in me, and they begin to pursue holiness. The second thing that Proverbs 31 verse 10 says that a godly woman is, is she's not just virtuous and holy, but she's also
she's capable. Now again, you could go a variety of different ways with this idea of capability, but but what is being expressed here is that a godly woman, she realizes that God has uniquely
qualified her, that God has gifted her specifically how he wants her, and that in a world that can no longer define what a woman is, a godly woman realizes that I've been uniquely and wonderfully made and that God has built me exactly how he wants me and my capability
my capability isn't coming one day when I get a husband or when I start to have children, though both of which are incredible blessings,
they're incredible gifts from God, they are not the bearer of your purpose. They're not the thing that ushers in your meaning and your your purpose. Again, I wrote it down this way, the capability doesn't come from a wedding band, it comes from the cross
and a godly woman realizes that I'm capable not when I get a husband or not when I finally have kids, again, both of both of which are amazing things to aspire and gifts to ask God for, yes and amen. But a godly woman realizes that those things aren't conditional
on God being able to use my life and that there's an assignment for you to expand the kingdom of God as much as there is on every man sitting in this room. And I think sometimes the reason that women have struggled
to find their role in their voice is because the church has not really empowered and emboldened women to lead. And yes, roles matter, assignments matter and there is uniquenesses for men and for women. I'm here to tell you though, as the person that carries the chief spiritual responsibility of this of this congregation of believers, I'm here to tell every woman in this place you are capable to lead. The spirit of God is alive and active in you. We need your voice. We need you to step into positions of leadership. Stop shying back because you're afraid to step into the gift that God has given you. You're capable and a godly woman isn't isn't afraid of that. They're not scared to step on the toes of guys that are around them because we know there's order, there's structure, we're submitted to leadership, but I'm capable to lead. And the great commission that we see in Matthew 28,
the New Testament standard, this is the fruit that God wants to produce from all of us. It's no longer just bearing children.
Though again, bearing children is a great gift. It's not the only fruit that God wants to produce in your life. He also wants you to go out and make disciples and to baptize people in the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit. That is not something that is just for men. The great commission, the great commandment is one that is gender neutral. Again, I belabor the point, but I hope you hear me today that capability,
it's not a ring on your hand as much as it is the spirit of God that's alive and active in your heart. Jesus died and sealed you with the spirit of God. You have the same spirit of God alive in you that rose Jesus from the grave. So walk in the God given capability
that you have. Here's how the verse continues. Proverbs 31 verse 11. It says that her husband her husband can trust her and she will greatly enrich his life. Again, highlight underlying circle trust and enrich the next two principles that we see for a godly woman. Verse 12 says that she brings him good, not harm
all the days of her life. Here's the third principle that we see in here of what and who a godly woman is. A godly woman is one that is trustworthy. It is she's one that her husband can trust.
And what's interesting is again, trust is something that is so easily broken and so so difficult to restore. And I was looking at a bunch of data to try to figure out, okay, who who cheats more? Men or women? The the hard part about that conversation is you're asking cheaters to self identify as cheaters. Right? The assumption is that cheaters are probably also liars and so they're not gonna they're not gonna identify
accurately, but the best data that we have says that men cheat about three times the rate of women. It doesn't mean that women don't cheat, but more than likely,
what often happens is infidelity when it comes to physical intimacy is something that men are tempted to do because of because of our wiring, but women have the same exact temptation from Satan to begin to erode trust inside of their marriage, they just do it differently. How do women, again in my experience, how have I seen most women unintentionally begin to erode trust with their their husband? Because Proverbs 31 says that a godly woman is one who builds trust with her husband. She's one that when her when she walks out of the door to meet with friends, her husband isn't nervous. Who's gonna come back in the door? What was spoken into her while she was gone? No. A godly woman is one that realizes that, hey, I have a responsibility to maintain trust with my husband. What does this look like practically?
I think sometimes the the most unintentional damage that women do to their marriage is they're just incredibly careless with the words that they use about their husband when he's not around or even worse sometimes when he when he is around. And I'm telling you, one of the biggest red flags to me. If I'm hanging out in a social setting or we're at dinner with a group of friends and a wife is just she's openly
kind of demeaning her husband. She's just openly in you know, she's in jest or she's poking fun of and just trying to point out all the kind of flaws of her husband for it's a massive red flag. I promise you, you will never build a positive relationship
while speaking negatively about your significant other. This goes both ways for husbands and wives but women are much more tempted because of the way that God has wired you to gather with your friends and just begin to verbally vomit about your relationship to people that truthfully can't really help the situation at all. And all you're doing with gossip is you're just you're eroding trust with your with your husband. You know the data says that women will speak on average about 21,000
words a day. Gentlemen, we only speak about 7,000 words, so we're we're a third of the way there. Right? It tells me that you you every female in this room will have 21,000 opportunities
to sow life or death. A godly woman realizes that there's there are no neutral words and my words are doing one of two things. They're either sowing seeds of life or they're sowing seeds of death. Proverbs chapter 18 verse 21 says, the tongue can bring death or life
and a godly woman chooses to honor her husband with what she says and what she chooses not to say. Don't hear what I'm not saying. I'm not saying that you can't have hard conversations and you just are a doormat and you just never address anything. That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm just saying that you have to learn to address things in appropriate places with the right people that can actually work towards a solution
and it's not just it's not just gossiping because that's not it's not helpful and what you might do is you you are unintentionally eroding the trust that a godly woman realizes is is crucial for this relationship.
It says that her husband can trust her and that she will greatly enrich his life. How does a godly woman greatly enrich her husband's life? By making a decision, the fourth principle, that a godly woman chooses to speak life.
That she makes a decision that I'm gonna speak life with my words and here's why. Women, if your husbands have never told you this, you carry disproportionate weight with the words that you speak into your husband's life.
In my position, again, I've you just get used to. When you're in a position of, you know, there's some level of interaction with public things, you just get used to people criticizing every decision that you make. If I if I change my pants, they're either too loose or they're too tight. If I if I change my hair color, people are like, they don't like it or my haircut, they don't like and and you you make a decision, you get you get 10 people that criticize everything that you say. The truth is is I don't really care what most of you say or think about me. But the truth is is if I walk off of stage and my wife is like, that outfit was terrible, I'm gonna burn it and never wear it again. Right?
Because there's something about my wife's words that matter to me more than anybody else's and godly women realize that our words matter. In your words into your husband, God has given you disproportionate weight and with great power comes great responsibility.
Right? It's the Spider Man quote that you you've gotta realize that God has given you the ability to sow life or death into your husband and the scriptures talk a lot about a wife who is careless with her words in relationship to her husband. Proverbs chapter 27 verse 15 says that a quarrelsome wife is as annoying as constant dripping.
These are God's words, not mine. Okay? It actually it actually goes further just to illustrate the point. Proverbs 21 verse 19, it's better to live alone in the desert than with a quarrelsome complaining wife.
And that verse hits different when you live in Phoenix. You're right? And any dude that has had to be in a situation like that, go, for sure, I would choose the desert in a 130 degrees all day. Right? Here's here's the principle. Again, don't hear what I'm not saying. I'm not saying you stay in abusive situations and you never voice your opinion. You never you never say what you actually need. I'm not saying that at all. But what I am saying is that just gossiping about your husband hoping he's gonna change isn't gonna change anything.
But speaking life into him, encouraging him, maybe your husband will begin to rise to the atmosphere that you create in your home for him.
That you are setting a standard with the words that you speak and you have a responsibility to choose life over death. A godly woman realizes the power and the weight of my words. Here it is. The words, your words will create the atmosphere of your marriage.
The question to all the women in the room is, what is the atmosphere of the home and the marriage that you're creating based on the words that you choose to say? Again, I'm not saying we don't bring things up. We don't have hard conversations, but we do it in appropriate
places because a godly woman realizes that it's my responsibility to speak life. Here's the fifth one. Fifth principle is that a godly woman has godly friends.
This is one for both genders that's so easy to overlook and think that it's not that big of a deal, But a godly woman realizes, especially as I'm going through the process of learning how to submit all of my life to Jesus, how to honor my husband, so much of this this Christian life is is counter cultural.
So much of this message, if the world heard, would say that you are crazy. But again, the scripture say there's a there's a way that makes sense to us, but in the end, that's what leads to death. But the countercultural Christian life is what leads to human flourishing,
to the marriage that you really actually want. And a godly woman realizes that the people that I spend the most time with, they matter.
They are not neutral. Just like your words are either producing life or death, your friendships are either pulling you into the things of God or they're pulling you away from the things of God. And a godly woman begins to realize, hey, I have a I have a heavy responsibility to steward
the people that I bring into my inner circle. It doesn't mean that I cut off all ties to people, but the people that I'm processing through life challenges with, the people that I'm going to for advice, it's not people who are not Christian. I'm going to people who are pursuing
the same things because again, the principle in scripture, first Corinthians 15, is that bad company always corrupts good character. And every single one of us in this room will be tempted to believe that we're the exception to the rule. Let me just tell you, you're not.
The data is clear that over time, bad company will always corrupt good character. As a youth pastor, I had one message that I preached. You go grab a kid from my youth ministry fifteen years ago and they will tell you Daniel had a singular message. If you show me your friends, I'll show you your future. If you wanna live and take a stand for Christ in a world that is anti God, you've gotta begin to surround yourself with some friends that are trying to do the same thing. If you wanna peek into your future, you wanna know where your life is going, look at the books that you read and the people you spend the most time with, and it's a it is a great picture of the trajectory that your life is on. A godly woman realizes there are no neutral friends and I need to surround myself with people who are doing the same thing and just again, a slight encouragement to all the younger women who are here today. You've gotta find a woman. The bible talks so much about finding older women who pour into the younger generation to help them become the woman of God that they're supposed to become. If you're here today and you're younger, you're just getting started in life and in marriage, find somebody in our church. It's what's beautiful about the body of Christ. Find a woman whose age starts with a five, six or seven and ask her, you're amazing and I hope one day to have a life that looks like yours and a relationship with Jesus that looks like yours. Can we just get coffee once a month? And can I just ask you, how did you navigate through life? How did you raise your kids? How did you navigate tension inside of the home? And let her speak into your life but realize
that the people that you allow in your inner circle are going to influence who you are becoming more than you you could ever realize. A godly woman is one that has godly friends, and godly friends don't happen on accident. They happen intentionally. Sixth principle for a godly woman is a godly woman is one who is a sexual blessing
to her husband. K? Notice I said husband. Alright? Sexual blessing to her husband. The really funny part, I had to rewrite this message because when I originally was planning it, I was gonna teach the same verses from last week in Song of Solomon, but I was gonna do it from the female perspective this week. But had I done that, my first point, literally first point out of the gates was gonna be that a godly woman is a sexual blessing to her husband. I was like, I can't come out of the gate swinging with that one. Like I gotta I gotta build some anticipation to it, you know? Like I gotta get some credibility built with the audience first, but then we'll get into again the biblical thing that is that is so
true that we we can't avoid. And so often the cultural narrative is that like sex is something that guys want and it's something that that girls don't really care about. And there's a lot of damage that has been done with the purity culture that at some point has to be undone.
And again, I said it clearly that this is something that is reserved for husbands. K? We've talked about it this whole series, you know the rule, no ringing,
no dinging. Alright? Like that's the biblical narrative of God's sexual ethics. Okay? If you're a boy, you're a guy in this room and you want big boy privileges, make a big boy decision and meet that girl at the altar with her dad and commit to her for life. Okay?
And then you can enjoy the beautiful gift that sexuality is supposed to be. But but a godly woman is one that realizes, hey, the the cultural narrative that has been sold, the natural trajectory of every marriage is you will have one partner that is playing offense and you will have one partner on defense. No. Not in a godly marriage. A godly marriage is one that realizes that that a wife, a godly woman has responsibility
to be a blessing to her husband in this arena. First Corinthians chapter seven says this, it says that the husband should fulfill his wife's sexual needs. The wife should fulfill her husband's needs. Let's close in prayer and get out of here. I'm just kidding. Could you imagine?
Verse four, that's the one verse that I read. It's pretty simple. Let's pray and get out of here. Verse four, the wife gives authority over her body to her husband and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife. Verse five, do not deprive each other of sexual relations
unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so that you can then give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward, you should come together again so that Satan won't be able to tempt you because of your lack of self control.
The scriptures are so clear about the beautiful gift that sexual intimacy is supposed to be to a married relationship,
and a godly woman is one that realizes that, that embraces it, that figures out, okay, how what does this look like? But you gotta realize this is the tension. This is the stalemate where so many marriages stall out at because we as men and women, again, broad stroke statement. Know it's not universally true, but for the most part, in this room, men and women are wired very differently. And women who for them to get to a place of physical intimacy, they first need emotional connection. For women, it's emotional connection that will lead to physical connection. And wives will often say to the husband, it's like, I'm just frustrated we don't have enough physical connection. She's like, well, if you try to engage me emotionally, maybe we would we would pursue that. And again, a godly husband is one that realizes you've gotta pursue your wife emotionally
and not just physically, but every female in here, you've gotta you've gotta hear this. Get inside the brain of a man for just a second. You're different than us. It's it's beautiful, but it's just different. Gentlemen are literally wired to have to pursue physical connection and after physical connection,
it will then open up pathways and doorways to emotional connection. And what happens is is the stalemate of marriage is often because men aren't getting the physical connection that they're desiring, they're not pursuing emotional connection. Because women aren't getting the emotional connection they want, they're not pursuing physical connection.
And that is the standoff that most marriages stay stalled out in, and you give that months, you give that years, it is what causes a lot of marriages to implode.
Godly homes look like husbands who are pursuing their wife emotionally even if their physical needs aren't met to the standard that they want. Godly women are going, I'm gonna pursue my husband physically even if the emotional needs aren't being met to the standard that I want. Both people believe that if I go first,
it will be the thing that opens up the doorway for the other person to follow and the fulfillment of it, the byproduct of it will be a marriage that flourishes in a relationship that is rich. But it realizes it, it forces us to realize, hey, sex isn't bad and taboo. It's a beautiful gift. It's a terrible foundation,
but it's a beautiful beautiful gift. There's so many verses that I could read, but this is the one that'll make you cringe the most. I'm just gonna read it. Song of Songs chapter two verse three. Again, these are God's words not mine. Okay? Says, like the like the finest apple tree in the orchard is my lover among other young men. I sit in his delight a delightful shade and I taste his delicious fruit. If you're wondering, that verse means exactly what you think it means. Okay?
Nobody debates the the metaphoric representation of what that verse is talking about. The reason that I share it is a godly woman realizes, hey, sexuality is a beautiful thing to be explored inside of the context of a marriage. Do not awaken love before it's time is Solomon's charge, but once you're married, figure this thing out together. Sex isn't bad. It's not taboo.
It's beautiful and if your relationship stays in the position of one person that's on offense and one person playing defense and sex just becomes a a carrot that you dangle to get your husband to do what you want him to do, I'm telling you, it will become it will become something that will self implode over time. A godly woman realizes
that she has she has a responsibility to be a sexual blessing to her husband. Dear God, let's move on, verse seven.
Well, goes that table. Let's see if we could just balance that right there. Look at that. You can have the tabletop sir, it's all it's all yours. Last point, I'll get us out of here. Okay? I don't know what that was. I was either the devil or God, I'm not sure yet, we'll see.
I'm leaning more towards God though. Okay? The six principles true. Last one, last point that I have for you is a godly woman knows her value. A godly woman knows who she is. She's not searching in this world. She's not she's not looking for people to show her value and worth because she knows that two thousand years ago, Jesus, God himself stepped out of heaven. He became one of us. He became Emmanuel,
God with us. He lived a life that you could never live. He died the death that you deserve, and because of what he did on the cross, he offered you a pathway to be restored with God, and that is the ultimate sacrifice. You wanna know why and how you have value?
Because Jesus gave his life for you to be redeemed and for you to be restored, and a woman of God is secure,
that I am a blood bought daughter of the most high God, and I don't settle for what community and culture tells me my value is. I I don't wait for somebody on Instagram to ascribe my beauty and my worth. I don't need to post pictures of myself in inappropriate
postures because I'm trying to gain the approval of the world. No. I know who I am in Christ. You get to walk as a blood bought daughter of the most high God. You are the greatest commodity that God has ever created. You are the masterpiece of all of his creation,
and a woman of God is secure in that and walks with dignity and strength. Last verse that I have for you, won't touch the iPad, but I'll just read it to you. Proverbs 31 verse 25 says that she, a godly woman, is one who is clothed with strength and with dignity. What is a godly woman putting on every day? Strength
and dignity. Who are you? You are a woman who walks in strength and dignity, knowing your value, knowing your worth. Even if today your body doesn't look like you want it to or what it used to look like and kids have ruined some stuff, like none none of that matters. That's not your value. That's not your worth.
You have a decision every day to wake up and put something on. My encouragement to you is put on the very thing that God says that you are, strength and dignity.
Walk with your shoulders back, eyes lifted high, knowing that you have a father in heaven who loves you. You have a value. Though the world might say that you're common, you have a father in heaven that says you are you are extraordinary. You are rare. He loves you, and so live.
Live according to your value. Walk in according to the authority that God has given you. Amen? Amen. Let me pray first before something else breaks. Father, God, we thank you. Lord, we thank you so much for who you are. God, we thank you for the beautiful, holy gift of women.
And father, in a culture that literally, like, literally cannot define what a woman is, we're thankful that you've defined it for us and that women here today don't have to try to look to the world to figure out who they are. That, father, you have spoken their worth, their value, and their dignity.
And that, God, a a a female, a woman, a wife that is pursuing you is greater than any treasure that men could ever try to find in this life. And so, would you do the supernatural work? Would you do the supernatural lifting of raising the standards of godly womanhood and godly manhood in our church and in our world today?
And would you begin to to build homes and establish families with godly husbands pursuing their wives and godly wives pursuing and submitting to their husband, knowing that together, they make a beautiful pair. And together, there becomes something holy and supernatural.
Jesus, we love you. We need you. It is in your name all God's people said, amen and amen. You guys are amazing. Thank you so much for being here.
