The big idea

Before revival can reach the nation, it must start with repentance in the church, followed by fighting the real spiritual enemy through worship and prayer, not politics.

In the face of the evil and division we're seeing in our country, Pastor Daniel reminds us that revival is coming, but it begins with God's people humbling themselves and repenting, not with fixing the nation's politics. Once we repent, we're called to fight our real enemy, spiritual darkness, with the weapons God has given us: worship and prayer.

We're living through a moment that feels like an unveiling of evil, and the church has to respond somehow.

Pastor Daniel names recent events, a woman murdered on a train, school shootings, 9/11, and the murder of Charlie Kirk after he spoke about his beliefs, as evidence of evil surfacing in ways he says he's never seen in his lifetime. He frames the question facing believers as simply: what do we do, how do we respond.

Repentance in the church, not the nation, is what has historically preceded revival.

Working from 2 Chronicles 7:14, Pastor Daniel points out the verse is addressed to God's people, not the world. He argues that every great spiritual awakening in the nation's history was preceded by repentance inside the church first, and that we often wrongly look outward for the nation to repent when it has to start with us and the anger, division, and hatred in our own hearts.

After repentance, God's people are called to fight, but with spiritual, not worldly, weapons.

He turns to 2 Corinthians 10:4 to show that our weapons are not of this world but have divine power to demolish strongholds. He clarifies the fight isn't Republicans versus Democrats or conservatives versus progressives, it's against a spiritual enemy, and worship is one of the primary weapons we've been given.

Real change comes from a surrendered life, not from policy or political engagement.

Pastor Daniel notes that Jesus only addressed government policy once, on taxes, telling people simply to pay them, and did not build His mission around changing laws. He says while Christians should stay engaged, revival won't come through policy but through running after God fully.

Application

Repent of what's in your own heart
Before looking at what the nation needs to change, ask God to show you the division, hatred, or anger you've been carrying and let Him deal with it.
Fight through worship, not social media
Recognize that singing and worship are spiritual warfare; engage the real, spiritual enemy through worship and prayer rather than online arguments over politics.
Surrender your whole life to God
Rather than pinning hope on policy or political sides, run after God with everything, giving Him every part of your heart this week.
Stay engaged as a citizen, but don't put your hope there
Pastor Daniel affirms Christians should still be responsibly engaged in society, while trusting that revival, not policy, is what actually heals the land.
