Who's excited to be in the presence of God today? I said, who's excited to be in the house of God today? Excited. I'm excited to be here. Listen, if you are visiting for the first time, I want you to know that I am not the pastor of this church. It is my older brother, lighter complexion.
I'm his little black brother, Tyshon Roland. I'm one of the teaching pastors here, and every now and again, they give me an opportunity to come and share the word of God and continue in our series. Today, we're talking about Romans, what we've been talking about. And I just want you to know that, pastor Daniel,
Nashlie, in fact, not just them, but the entire leadership and the volunteers of this church, they love you so so much. And if you're looking for a good church,
community, believe me, this is a good community. So much so, my wife, not all the time when I come and travel, she's with me. But today, my wife is here. She's right there in the third row or fourth row. Can you can you wave at the people? Well, just stand real quick. Just stand. Just stand.
There you go. Wave like the princess you are. Let them know. And, even my wife, when we were walking,
back for this next service, she was just telling me, she says, I love this church. Every time I come here, I just feel so encouraged. This is such a great church. And so if you're looking for a community, this is the community for you to be a part of. And again, I want you to come next week to hang out with our pastors. But can we just honor what God's doing in this church? Can we honor the worship team and all the volunteers and just thank them? No, for real. You guys are amazing. Thank you for everything. You know,
I'm an evangelist by nature. That's what I do full time. I lead a ministry called Project Salvation. And last night, I'm a brag about what God did. Can I brag about it real quick? I don't care. I'm a do it. I don't care. Listen, we we had a facility downtown
in Phoenix. And I and I wanna tell this story because I feel like someone is here and maybe you're like me and you got a vision in your heart and you think it's gonna be big and then you're doing it and it's not as big as you thought. And you can get discouraged Sometimes when what's going through you is not as big as it coming inside of you and what I felt last night was crazy I remember going we had the facility we had people registered We're Downtown Phoenix at 07:00, and when I say no one showed up y'all nobody was there Me and my wife were looking at each other. We're like what are we gonna do? Are we gonna shut it down? I was like no, we're not gonna shut it down We're gonna do a classic evangelism,
so I went out on the corner like the hoodlum I am and I stood on the corner when people walked by I just Invited them some people I remember this one guy he was walking and he never stopped walking I was like hey, he was like hey, I said what you doing? He said I'm going home. I said a word. Okay. He kept going and I saw another group of people that came and eventually I saw this lady named Christina with her daughter
Layla and And I'm not even lying God. I think God did this for me, and he did this for them They were walking around the corner. I looked at them. I said hey, what are you doing tonight? And she said nothing. I said what are you doing out here? Super hot you just walking with your child. She said, honestly,
I Got in my car, and I just had to get out the house today I drove an hour away from my house now the preacher in me was like Hey, I know why you drove an hour away from your house you gotta get in the house of God. And this what was so cool, we brought them in the room. It was 15 fired up people.
I was preaching full of faith like I do every week here, every time I'm here. And can I tell you that Christina and Layla both gave their life to Jesus Christ last night?
It was so amazing. They went to a church service this morning. Not only did they get saved, but we connected them with a church, and now they're gonna be discipled. And, that's what we get to do. Now, every time I talk about Project Salvation, some of you will say, hey, pastor Tyshone. Listen. I'll do it. I'll go, but you need to stop having it in the hood in Phoenix if you want us to come through. And when y'all said that, I didn't think it was ghetto, but now I'm like, oh, I see it I see what they're talking about is a little bit ghetto over here So because I love you guys so much specifically Echo's tonight We're having a service here in Mesa at a water store. Don't judge where we start. We're in a school. God can move anywhere Okay,
and if you are hungry tonight and you want God to do something, I really want to encourage you to come invite a friend. I believe that God is gonna do something supernatural. This is how much I believe it. I looked at my wife before the service, and I said, hey, I don't I don't know if we're gonna make the flight tonight, and she was like, the flights at like eleven. I was like, I know, but I just think there's something that God wants to do tonight that's significant, and I wanna pray and be there for people. So I'm excited to see what the Lord does, and hopefully, you can make it tonight. But if you don't make it tonight, that's fine because who's excited for the word right now?
That's exciting. I want us to go to
Romans chapter eight. Romans chapter eight. I'm gonna read from verse 24 to verse 28, and then I'm a pray, and we're gonna dismiss the ban, and then we're gonna see what the Lord does. It reads like this, likewise, the spirit helps us in our weakness.
For we do not know what to pray as we ought to, but the spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches the hearts know in the mind of Christ because the spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know for those that love God,
all things I want everyone to say that. Say all things. All things work
together for the good for those who are called according to his purpose. I wanna preach a message entitled, let him work it out. Let him work it out. Let's bow our heads and Heavenly father, I thank you for this opportunity to preach your word to your people. I thank you for everything that you've done in every service, Lord, and I ask that you do exceedingly, abundantly above anything we could ask, think, or imagine in the mighty name of Jesus. And everybody said
Amen. Everybody said Amen. Every time I preach, at least I try, I could be wrong, but for majority part, every time I preach, I try to sneak in the story of my brother dying. If you don't know me, a big part of my life is that in 2017,
my mom called me with the news that my brother, my cousin and six other of my family members were murdered in a mass shooting. This news changed the trajectory of my life.
I like to introduce people to me with that story because I want them to know that the preacher on stage is going through some stuff. The preacher on stage is not one of those people that, you know, just has some sayings
that are cute, but when you look at your life, they don't apply. In fact, I feel like I'm quite the opposite.
I really always think about what I'm going through and what people could be going through because I remember being in a room like this, being lost in a crowd and people had no idea what I was going through. So many people that we know are going through so much situations, so many circumstances that they're wondering,
God, how are you gonna work this out? When my brother died, I remember I was on contract at Elevation Church working to be on staff and when my mom called me that night, I was gonna go to the movies because your boy's a nerd and I was gonna go see Wonder Woman by myself because
I don't watch sports, I watch cartoons, so don't judge me, okay? And I remember that night, I just said I can't, I can't go to the movies. Instead, I got in my car and I drove to every physical location of Elevation Church and I ended at Ballantyne, my broadcast location. Sitting in the car, my Ford Focus of 2017
and I'm looking at the building and I was playing a worship song by Fred Hammond and I was just crying. Have you ever been there where it's just so hard you don't even got words? The Bible actually talks about this where the spirit will pray for you because you don't got words.
Sitting in the parking lot of Ballantyne about 03:30 in the morning and I had this thought, God, how are you gonna work this out? How are you gonna work this one out? Maybe you're here today and there's something that you're going through.
It could be within your marriage, it could be within your mind, it could be within your children, it could be with your business, your finances. I think we all have different struggles and maybe you didn't ask this really, but maybe implicitly or even explicitly you have thought this to yourself, God,
how are you gonna work this out? Because look at where I'm at in my marriage. I never thought I would be here in my marriage. How are you gonna work this out?
Look at where I'm at with this kid, I didn't think this kid would be like this, this kid's acting like their dad's side of the family, but what's going on with this one? We prayed over this one, this should be, that should be the bad one, but the bad one's not the good one, the good one's the bad. God, what's going on?
You're looking at your money and it's funny and you ain't laughing. You're looking at your future and you're worried because you're wondering, God, what happened and how are you gonna work this out? I think if you're in that place today
or if you know someone in that place, then this message could be a blessing to them because I think all of us find ourselves in this situation or circumstance, not a time or two, but quite often. Romans chapter eight one of the most important chapters in the Bible. In fact, theologians
and church fathers of old will argue specifically about chapter eight. I mean, there's so much theology that's rich in there. That's why we're spending weeks and we'll continue to spend weeks going through the book of Romans because it's essential for you to understand for your faith, but it's also essential for you to understand how to practice your faith. It's not just enough to know the law, you wanna practice it and Romans really helps us in that. Now, when I found out that I was gonna be tasked with Romans chapter eight, my goal was to get to Romans eight verse 28 because this verse has been an anchor in my life, in my hard seasons and in my bad seasons, Romans eight twenty eight has been the biggest blessing. And we know
that God will work all things, everyone say all things. All things. All things out for those that are called according to his purpose. I wanna show you how that happens and how that works. We're gonna go look at a character in the Old Testament, his name is Joseph.
Joseph is about 17 or 18 years old where he's about to have this moment with God, and I have three points today and they all start with P because I wanna make it easy for you, okay? The first one is the picture. The second one is the problem. The third one is the promise. The first one is the picture.
Number one, the picture we see in Genesis chapter 37, we're introduced to this young man named Joseph, I'll show you as it reads, it says now Joseph had a dream and when he told his brothers the dream, he said
he had a dream and when he told his brothers the dream, they hated them even more. He said, hear this dream that I have dreamed, behold, we were binding sheaves and all of the sheaves, binding
sheaves in the field and behold, my sheaves arose and stood right, and behold, your sheaves gathered around it and bowed down to my sheaves. His brother said to him, are you indeed to rule over us and reign over us? So they hated him even the more for his dreams and his words,
which I feel like when I read that verse, think we've all gone there a time or two, have you ever had a vision, a dream, a desire in your heart and you went to share it with someone, maybe a friend, maybe a family member, hoping that they would be as excited about it as you're excited about it, and then you tell them the dream, you tell them the vision, you tell them what you're doing and they hit you with one of these, oh, that's nice.
Oh, that's great, look at you. Oh, you're gonna be rich, you're gonna read a book, I don't even know if you can write a book but suddenly you wanna write another one, that's great.
Oh, you got this whole little new business plan. Okay. I see you. You're all busy enough. Or or if you start losing weight or something like that, and you thought they were gonna congratulate you and they don't. They hit you with the what you want. I need to get what you on. What am I on? I'm on hard work,
Calorie deficit, brother.
At least that's me and my wife. Between me and my wife, we've lost over 50 pounds. Shout out for the Lord. Hey, he's good. It's not about that. It's not about that. My bad. But it's a big deal for me because your boy was big, okay? And now I'm trying to get small. And you can't be tiny and big, so I had to pick one. Said I can't get taller, I have to get smaller, and so that's what happened.
And when I'm looking at the life of Joseph, it's so interesting because I think a lot of us share a dream, share a hope, share a vision, and it's not reciprocated. And you've got this picture, when I say picture, I mean possibility. When I say possibility, I mean potential for the future.
Maybe you have a picture for your marriage, maybe you have a picture for your children, you have a picture for your future, you have this idea and maybe a little bit of it has come from what you've experienced and maybe a little bit has come from the Lord, but you got this picture
and you're hoping that this picture is gonna come to pass. Everyone in this room, everybody under the sound of my voice, we have a picture whether we know it or not, whether we've explicitly said it or not, we have this picture, when I say picture, expectation for the future
and God gives you to it, gives it to you and you get so excited, you get so amazed And then something happens that puts you in a place where you start wondering, oh, is this picture gonna come to pass? My second point is the problem, Joseph had a problem
and here was the problem. His brothers did not like his dream. The problem was those that were connected to him did not like his vision so much so that his brothers sold him into slavery.
They took the coat from him. You can go read this in Genesis chapter 37. It's it's a pretty expansive story, and I'm trying my best to kinda condense it for you, but if there's any story that I think is so easy to read, even if you don't like the Bible, it is the story of Joseph. It's just pretty interesting. When you're just reading about it, you're like, oh,
he's favored. He has a big family. His dad gave him this coat. His brothers take the coat, which represented his favor, and I think that's where his problem started. I'll say this, life sometimes will take the very thing you think God gave you.
Have you ever been through something like that where you lost your coat and now you think you lost your favor? And because maybe you've subscribed to the idea that favor is a position, favor is a place,
favor is a person, so if I lose this person, if I lose this place, if I lose this position, then I lost my favor. No, you didn't because the favor of God is not simply on what you do, the favor of God is on you. When God has something for you, it is for you and no one can take it away. They can take away your coat, but hear me, they cannot take away your calling
And Joseph starts seeing this happen, Joseph gets sold into slavery and then he has some favor there. Now we jump to Genesis, we can go to that second scripture that I gave you under the promise. In Genesis chapter 30, it shows us what happens to Joseph after he's working for this guy named Potiphar.
He's working for Potiphar's wife and he's working for Potiphar and he has favor and it's amazing and one day his wife, she sees him, she sees little brother Joseph working and she's like, I like him. I like him a lot.
She's like, you know, I like that little Hebrew boy. So she gets a little tempted and she's like, hey, you should, like, lay with me. He's like, I'm good, I'm good, you can lay with yourself, I'm good, I'm a go hang out, it's all great. The next day she sees him again, she's like, oh Joseph, you look good, brother, he said, thank you Jesus, God made me in his image, I gotta go, you okay, alright, and he keeps saying no, he keeps saying no. One day she gets aggressive as sin always does,
she gets aggressive, Brother Joe, you need to lay with me, he says no. She grabs him, takes his clothes, this young man goes running through the palace half naked. This is a man who had his coat taken from him, this is a man that's been sold into slavery, this is a man that got a job even though he was a slave
and now he's about to go to prison because of an accusation that's not true. The problem is what do you do when life does not look like the way you pictured? What do you do when you find yourself in a place that you don't belong?
Maybe you start thinking what I was talking about, God, are you gonna work this out? If I'm Joseph, I'm thinking, God, I had a lot of dreams and none of my dreams was to be confined in prison.
Now, I'm gonna ask a question that's rhetorical, don't lift your hand because I don't want people to know your stuff, but maybe somebody in this room has been to jail,
and if you have, ain't no judgment because I want you to know your boy on stage has been to jail. That's right, I recently not recently, about two years ago, I went to jail for seven days. My album is dropping next week, I'm a call itself 2 Cents, okay, I'm out here doing some
work right now, it's only two songs, they're both twenty seconds, but I'm doing my best, right? And I went to jail because I was speeding, they caught me riding dirty and I had a court date and I missed the court date and they don't like when you miss the court. So if anybody, the word for you right now is go to court,
right now, just go to court and get it taken care of so you don't go to jail because I was driving to get my wife a snickers as the good husband that I am and then the cop pulled me over and said, brother, you ain't giving her a Snickers, in fact, brother, you're going to jail tonight. And I was like, woah, this is crazy.
As soon as I got in there, I called my wife, said, babe, you're gonna have to get me out of here immediately.
You go, hey, listen, you call everyone you know, get all the pennies together and we gotta get me out of here. She said, babe, don't worry, already called and I found out you're gonna be in there for seven days. I said, seven what?
She said seven days. I said like human days, like we're talking twenty four hour periods. She's like yes. I said okay.
I remember getting off the phone and I'm not lying, this is everything is true, I was so traumatic, I asked my wife, when I got out of jail I was a different person for like a month, I was like you ain't grateful for this food. You don't know how it is on the inside.
Know, they had to ease me back into society. Know, I was just like troubled, I couldn't even sleep. I was like hey, back when I was in the pen, my wife was like shut up, you were never in the pen. I was like hey, whatever. Well, I got off the phone and I was so scared
that that I cried. I did. I cried and a group of thugs in there that belong in there, they brought me in. They brought me into their small group. They adopted me and they said, Come here, Carlton, you're a part of us now, okay?
So now I'm with these people, they're taking care of me, they gave me the ground rules, ground rules number one, you don't cry and you don't talk about how much money you had on your books. I didn't know that, I said I had $30 on my books and people just were like hey, can I get some noodles?
And then before I knew it, all the money on my books was gone, so it was a horrible situation. In fact, on the first night I looked up and it said, H E seven seven, and I was like, you flip those sevens down, it looks like hell. And that's what I feel like I'm in, I feel like in hell
and all these sermons and scriptures popped in my mind about Ty, you know what the preachers, you know what Paul did, he prayed, well, I ain't Paul, okay. Well, you know Joseph was in jail, well, Joseph, listen, it was his fault, it ain't my fault. And I remember having this moment with God where he asked me, who are you?
He was like, I'm Tyshon Roland, he's like, know, but who are you? I was like, I'm an evangelist, so evangelize. Even though I was in prison or jail, I was still in purpose. And maybe you're here right now and you find yourself in a hard spot and you're thinking to yourself there's no way that the purposes of God
can be processed in this present situation that I'm in.
I learned something actually about Joseph when I was a young man, I think I know what ends up getting him out because Joseph is a dreamer, I already told you he had a dream since he was a young kid and his dream was so big that he thought people were gonna bow down, He had no problem dreaming,
but one day he's in the prison and he has favor and he's walking and he sees the cup bearer and the baker and they have this staunch look on their face, they look sad, they look disheveled and he asked them, he asked them, he said, what's going on? And both of them said, I have a dream, I had a dream last night.
I wanna say this, for any dreamer in the room, especially if you're a big dreamer, if you're a big dreamer and you're a big visionary, you gotta pay attention in this next part because I'm gonna tell you what your greatest test will be, is another dreamer.
How do you respond when God puts you in a room with another dreamer? Do you inquire about their dream the same way you want people to inquire about yours? Do you figure out ways to help them instead of just trying to figure out ways for people to help you?
Joseph looks at both of these people and he gives them both an interpretation for one, one of them was gonna die in three days, the other one was gonna be released and Joseph told the guy, he said, hey man, you're gonna get released and when you get out, please don't forgive me.
Please, please get me out because you know, I told you my story, I ain't supposed to be here, know, she's like Hebrew boys, I ain't supposed to be here, just tell him to get me out. He's like, word, I got you. And the Bible says they forgot about him for two years.
Sometimes you'll think that God forgot what he promised you and you've got to know that he did not. In fact, what you have to know is that God
is even working your situation out actively as you're in prison. What, you mean God is moving right now? Yeah, he is. You may not know it, but there's things that are taking place. For Joseph, what was taking place is that a few years from now, the pharaoh was gonna have a dream,
and he has this dream, he wakes up, the dream haunts him so much that he tells everyone that works for him, the mystics, arts, everybody, hey, here's my dream, this dream I had, can you tell me what my dream means? Everyone like I don't understand, I don't understand, I don't understand, the cup bearer, the cup bearer is like oh,
hey, I know a guy, wait a second, they go, they get him out of prison, his name is Joseph, Joseph explains the dream and he explains the dream so well that the pharaoh says not only am I gonna take you out of prison,
I'm gonna platform you and I'm gonna put a ring on your finger and I'm gonna give you the power to be the next most powerful man in the world next to me, I want you to work with me. This shows me that the favor of God on Joseph's life is so heavy
that even though he was somewhere he wasn't supposed to be, God still had a way to lift him up. God still had a way to get him out. And I wanna say this for everyone in this room, you may be looking at your present situation and circumstance with this idea, there's no way, there's no way he's gonna work this out.
I don't even what is God wanting me to do while I'm here, how can you work this out? What am I supposed to do here? Well one, you're supposed to let him use you. What I loved is that Joseph was in prison but he still allowed the Lord to use him. When I was in jail,
I remember when I came to the conclusion again, I'm crying, Carlton, they're telling me I'm not a thug, I'm like, no, I'm a thug, guys. They're like, no, you're not, you don't got it in you. And this random thought hit my mind
and I knew it was God for how good it was and how random it was because I would never think this thought in my right mind, so this has to be God because the thought was who can you get and bail out of jail, Tyshone? And I'm like, me, Lord, what do you mean who?
And I felt God tell me, I need you to bail some people out of jail. I'm like, oh my Lord. So I start walking around interviewing people secretly, not deciding
if I would be a blessing to them, not lying. I walk up to a guy, hey, what you in here for? Hey, man. I ain't really doing nothing. Alright, bro. I got you. You didn't do nothing. For what they say you do? Oh, man. Me and my old girl, we got in a fight, and, you know, I just got mad and I and I, you know, I put my hands on her. I said, know, you stay right here, bro, you gotta learn a lesson. I ain't it ain't you. It ain't you. Hey, brother, what what you do over here? Hey, man. Listen. I was selling Coke. Oh, you you stay right here, bro. You ain't ready. You ain't ready. I had to get the good ones. You know, the ones did something crazy. The cheap ones that were easy to get out. There was one guy, it cost $100 to get them out.
I said, It only costs $100 to get you out? You don't have anyone in your life with $100 He's like, Yeah, I got a lot of people in my life with $100 but they all gave up on me. And
I've been in here for the last few days and and I I can't handle it, and I'm in my right mind, I just wanna get out there saying I'm gonna be here for thirteen something days, bro, it's a $100, and I just don't know what to do. I'm like, okay, it's his lucky day, that's number one.
I meet another guy, okay, that's number two. I meet another guy and I was number three.
The next day I tell them all in different ways, hey man, just want you to know, I'm gonna get you out of jail. The first guy was like, sure. And then three hours later, they came and said his name and he looks over at me and I was like, see later, brother. He's like, did you really do this? He said, why? Said, because God told me.
And then after I got out eventually and I started easing back into society,
I tried my best to forget about it. I'm not gonna lie, I was like I need to put that behind me and on Christmas Day, I got three text messages from three different fathers all showing me that they got to be with their family on Christmas Day. I'm almost done, I'm sorry baby girl, I'm sorry, I'm gonna be done as soon. She's like this is horrible, bring Pastor Daniel back, I know, I feel the same way, I feel the same way.
And I'm getting them out, they send me a text message on Christmas Day, a photo of their child saying thank you for allowing me to be with my family, what you did helped me. Christmas Day, I felt great for myself honestly, I was like man, God is still cool that you used me even in a dark place.
For anyone that's in prison right now, in this proverbial prison in your mind, he can still use you right here. He can still use you right now. You still can be a blessing to another person. Sometimes when we're in situations we get so self centered and self focused and that makes sense because it hurts. But
when you have an opportunity to just yield your life to Christ and allow him to use you, you can what you thought was your worst season could be your best season.
I want to get back to Joseph because Joseph gets out, he gets this ring, and they make him the most powerful man in the world. He's so blessed. He's so blessed. He's so blessed. And it gets to this point where his family, after they bowed
to him, he positions him. God positions him to this place of power and his brothers finally come. Now his brothers think he's dead, but he knows it's his brothers from the moment he sees them. They walk in and the bible says that they bowed.
Now I opened up with Genesis chapter 37 verse five through eight and it talked about his dream, the sheaves would bow. The reason that in his dreams it was particularly grain being a sheaf, what it represented was the dream was
they were gonna go to seven years of plenty and they were gonna go through seven years of famine. And Joseph had a lot, his brothers had a little, so they bowed down when they saw him. When he was a young man like your age, he thought they're bowing down to me because I'm the boss.
Because usually when God gives us a dream when we're a young age, to say that you're immature. Sometimes we're immature, and we think it's about us. But now he's older,
and he realizes you're not bowing to me, the person. You're bowing me the position, and I'm positioned to bless you. And then he puts them through a rigorous training of a few things and eventually he unveils it. Hey guys, I'm alive. Go tell dad Joseph, his son is alive. I want you to bring the family here. I got places for you. I'm really connected to Pharaoh. Everyone you're gonna be taking care of, you go tell dad that I'm here and it's all good.
So they do, they go home, they tell their dad, dad dad dad dad Joseph's alive. You said Joseph was dead. Get past that dad. Do you not hear me? Joseph's alive. But years ago, you said that something happened. God, dad I was a liar. My bad, he's alive. Okay? Our son, your boy is alive and we're going to Egypt
and they do life together for many many many years and then Joseph's father dies. And we get to Genesis chapter 50. When I was a kid, someone said, If your Bible's falling apart, that means your life isn't. And so this is Genesis chapter 50. This is verse 20. As you can see, my life is not falling apart. Yes, it is. Okay.
As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, for the saving of many people, that they should be kept alive.
I think it's such a beautiful verse. In fact, Genesis fifty twenty for me is one of those ones. I love it. But I think every promise in the bible, this is a promise, is better when you contextualize what it's about. So when we say, man,
what the enemy meant for evil, it worked out for the saving of many people. Sometimes we don't know who the many people are, but in this verse and this context in the original context, I'll tell you who the many people were. It was his family.
Because if you take all of his siblings, all ten, eleven of his brothers and their spouses and their children, it would be around 70 and what Joseph is telling his brothers say hey guys you think You think I'm mad at you still not mad at you Am I disappointed for sure was I mad then absolutely, but you meant this for evil,
but God meant this for good, for the saving of our family. If you never sold me into slavery, I don't know if I would have got to the position that I'm in to take care of our family today. So sure it was horrible, but God worked it out. That's why Apostle Paul can say with so much assuredness, so much security,
with so much passion and fervor that for we know, we don't think, we don't wonder, we know that he works all things out for those that are called according to his purpose. He works it out. I opened up talking about my brother's death.
Now what I haven't told people is that it's been almost ten years, and this may sound crazy to some, but me and my dad have never talked about it. Me and my stepmom have never talked about it. I see my stepmom. I saw her literally last month. I love you. I'm sorry. Let's keep it moving.
We had dinner. It doesn't even get brought up. My dad,
he's into being a dad now, which is crazy. So he's in my life, and I love him. He's the best. And he said, son, I wanna take you fishing. I'm like, I'm 32 years old. I'm grown and the last thing I want to do is go fishing with my dad, but the eight year old in me was like go fishing with your father. So I did I did I got a fishing rod is this that's what they call it and I went out to this body of water. I was outside and these mosquitoes were all racist because they were coming after me every way and I was like they only like dark meat man and it was horrible
and It came to a point where I'm just like I hate fishing dad. I may hate you I don't know. I'm just this is not fun And I don't really know what prompted me to ask it I'll tell you that my camera happened to be recording
And so I'm glad that I got this moment on camera because I've played it back probably 300 times since it happened last month. I asked my dad, said, how was life before Jordan died? He said, son, it's so funny that you asked that. He said, around April, you posted a photo
and I saw that you were at this church, and I just felt like God was gonna do some things in your life, and I Was like I really want to be a part of his life But I know he hates me, and I did hate my dad. I hated him with all Everything me I love the Lord with all my heart, and I hated my dad with everything I had and
My dad told me something that I never knew because I met my grandfather when I was younger And I assumed because I met him when I was younger that that means he's been a part of my dad's life forever. My dad told me, he said, son, I didn't get connected to my dad till I was 26 years old, and I'm fishing.
And I'm like, woah, didn't grow up with a dad. He even said this, and he said, so I knew you hated me because I hated my dad. So one day, I see this photo, man, and I just saw you, and I said, I wanna be a part of his life. And he said he said, God assured him he's gonna be here soon. And then there's a pause,
and then my dad says this, and then Jordan died. And then you're back, and now you're here. He said my brother told him before he died if there's anyone that can get Tyshone back home, it's me. And he was right. He got me back home to my dad. And what was so crazy is that I was sitting with my dad, and I'm legitimately
loving the moment, and I'm realizing that, Yes, Jordan died, and it's the worst thing that ever happened to me But let's throw Romans eight twenty eight on that, but we know he works all things out So Jordan died
But Tyshone came back home and Tyshone got connected with his father. That's been the prayer on my heart for years that God would just work it out. Now I'm not trying to say that Jordan dying had to be the reason. What I am saying is that God redeems the reason with his own revelations
and that's why we all can look at any circumstance, anything and say, God,
I know that you're gonna work this out together for the good. That word together is where we get it comes from this Greek word where we get the word synergy from. And synergy in the in the definition of Romans eight twenty eight means actively
working together. What does that mean? Some people think God works like this He knows the future from the beginning and all the bad things are just gonna happen and he just kind of works it out like this like hey, it's by the end it all works out No, that's not what God does. He's working it out
What this means is that everything you've gone through when you put it back into the hands of the father He begins to weave it in such a beautiful story. Well pastor Tyshone. What does that look like? He takes the divorce He takes to death works it out. Takes Jordan dying, takes my dad not being my life,
works it out. He takes the guy that died of cancer,
And he takes the situation that makes no sense and he works it out. And then you get to take a step back and say, wow, God you are good. Now here's the caveat before you go and before you praise and before I close, it took ten years
for me to get this revelation about my dad and about why Jordan died and how it all worked out. It took Joseph over thirty years from the dream to the palace. It may take you a few years to see him work it out,
but better believe that he is actively working it out. And I wanna say this prophetically over whoever has the faith to grab it on. He's working it out.
He's working your finances out. He's working your child out. He's working your husband out. He's working your mind out He's working it out. Let him work it out because we know all things
Works together for those that are called according to his purpose. Could you bow your head and close your eyes? Heavenly father, I thank you for every person that's in this room. God, ask that you would secure their soul.
And maybe if you're in this room and you don't know Jesus, I wanna pray for you over this moment and lead you into a prayer and introduce you to your savior who you can call on any time,
any place. If you're in this room and you want to put your faith in Jesus Christ, I want you to lift your hands when I count to three, and I'm gonna celebrate you. One, you know who you are. Two, three, three. I see some hands. I see some hands. I see some hands, man.
And I want everyone to repeat this prayer for those that are coming to Christ for the first time. Say, Jesus, come into my life. Be my Lord and be my savior. Today, I put my faith, my hope in you. With heads still bowed, eyes still closed, if you made that decision right after this, we want to introduce
you to next steps and we'll have some people that will help you with your next steps because this is a decision that you may feel like you made alone, but you don't have to do it alone.
If you're in this room lastly and you're saying pastor Tyshone, I'm going through something specifically and I just need the faith to know that God is gonna work it out.
And I just need a little injection of faith and I would love for you to pray for me. When I count to three, I just want you to lift your hands. I'm gonna say a prayer, and I'm gonna dismiss us. But one, you know who you are. Two, three, three. I see hands all over. I see hands all over.
Heavenly father, I ask that you would give those strength that lifted their hands. And even those that did not have the strength, God, I pray that you would be their provision in this season. God, I ask that you would show them
that this verse, Romans eight twenty eight, will reign and rule supreme in their mind all week this week. It doesn't matter what happens. It doesn't matter what's going on, God, that they know that, no, this is gonna work out. Lord, I thank you for this amazing church and these amazing people.
Continue to strengthen them all the days of their life. Lord, we love you, and we are so grateful for what you did. And if you could, can you just give God a shout of praise right where you are and thank him for what he did this morning? And we thank God.
