The big idea

Failure is not final — through confession, celebration, and consecration, we can turn back the page and start again with God.

The good news of the gospel is that failure is not final — Jesus gives us the ability to start again rather than stay stuck in our mistakes. Nehemiah 9 shows the pattern: confess honestly before God and others, celebrate His unbroken faithfulness, and then consecrate yourself by drawing a line in the sand to live differently.

Confession isn't telling God something new — it's agreeing with what He already knows.

Using Adam and Eve hiding in the garden and God asking 'where are you,' Pastor Daniel explains that confession is about coming into agreement with God regarding what is already true, not revealing secrets to Him.

Tell someone — a friend or the prayer team down front, even anonymously — because forgiveness starts with God but healing comes through confessing to another person.
Celebrate God's faithfulness instead of carrying shame
Like Israel recounting their history in Nehemiah 9, look back at your own story through faith instead of shame and recognize God never actually abandoned you.
Consecrate yourself — draw a line in the sand
Don't just ride an emotional high; make a decided, lasting commitment to stop going back to your old self and to live as the new creation you are in Christ.
